I have a question that I feel the answer to it is very simple and I am just not seeing it, so because I am curious and want to know, I will ask it anyway!

How is it that the blower after the Air-to-Air kit is facing down??? But the sticker for Stillen label is still facing the same direction as if when the Supercharger was first installed?

Wouldn't it if I rotated my blower downward like the one in the Air-to-Air kit, it the label would be facing <----- instead of upward?

Or is the blower able to be rotated somehow like that with the air-to-air kit installation?

Or...am I just making stuff up and seeing things lol

Thanks.

You only rotate the volute (the part that looks like a snail shell).

Oh...lol. Okay so it was simpler than I thought.
Thanks man. I didn't know you could isolate and rotate that part only!
Is it a bolt I have to loosen or something to be able to rotate it or does it just rotate when you force it to?

I'm assuming bolts... but I'll let someone more informed take it from here since I do not have an SC.

It's a few Allen head bolts that hold the volute to the blower via brackets

Question:

Long story short: -->
1) My stock vq37 motor recently blew out.
2) A rod shot out of the engine and is now literally missing and there are two holes in my engine xD

I ordered a new engine from Import Parts Pro (IPP)
I ordered this: (Rated up to 850 WHP)
This Package includes:

Products in bold are upgraded from previous stage

Wiseco or JE Pistons .020 over
Carillo H Beam Rods
ARP WMC 3/8" Rod Bolts
ARP L19 Head Bolts

Block inspected and cleaned
Block redecked
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Rotating assembly balanced
Crank magnafluxed and the journals micro-polished
New Moly coated Race Spec main bearings installed
New Moly coated Nissan OEM rod bearings installed
Block prepped and assembled
Cometic Head Gaskets
Heads inspected and cleaned
Heads redecked
Ported exhaust and intake runners
3 angle valve job
New OEM Valve stem seals installed
Valve Stem Heights set
Cold Clearance set for stock cams
Heads prepped and assembled
New OEM Oil Pump

Engine will come with Heads bolted to block and torqued to spec
=============================================

Does this mean with this brand new high performance engine, I could safely swap out the 3 pulleys on the belt for different sizes causing it to spin faster safely?

Or would this still not be a good idea until I get the 928 impeller upgrade?

Any advice / thoughts / opinions / facts are appreciated.

Thank you guys!!

The motor will handle power from the pulley upgrades no problem. If you're going to be spinning the sc at that high of an rpm then you would want to do the ceramic bearing upgrade. If you're planning to do the 928 impeller upgrade you should just do the "Super Vortech" upgrade which would include the bearings.

Also, keep in mind. Since you're in California (like me), you my not be able to run the boost that the pulley upgrade will give you on 91 octane. You may be limited to e85.

Oh yeah, by the way, nice motor!

Heard! Thank you for your guys' feedback!
I suppose between now and 10 to 11 weeks from now, because I have a dead engine and also a dead battery (drained it while waiting for a tow truck to come lol while charging my phone), the best time to get the 928 super vortech impeller upgrade would be within those 10 weeks of waiting!
I would just need to take the blower out and send it to them! And their turnaround is 2 weeks average for a full round trip of blower sending from me to them to me again after upgrade is complete.

So conclusion from what I take:
- No point in swapping the pulleys out until I get the 928 upgrade, even though I have a much stronger motor now, correct? Or am I wrong?

PS - Thanks In about 10 weeks, the stock motor blowout will have been a blessing to me now that I am forced to get a new motor which I was planning to do couple years from now lol

I had the same motor built by IPP ... all except for the Cometic head gaskets and I went for the 9.5:1 CR Carillo pistons to compliment the H Beam Rods.
Sent the car down to AAM for their Stage 2 Turbos.
A lot of extra's including EcuTek Tune.
It made 803 whp and 809 wtq according to their Dyno.
Happiness was short lived - never got to take it home - the IPP built motor blew while it was still down there ... blew the rings, pistons, and bent a few valves.
Be careful and don't go for broke on your first Tune ...

Crap you scaring me now haha.

I understand that the engine comes with a 1 year warranty so if it defects by any reason within the 1 year of me having it, I can have it taken care of by IPP. I asked him what if I have a lot of aftermarket parts in my engine, would you still be able to take care of it then if it still blew out for whatever reason? He said yeah, it would still be taken care of -- as long as it is properly maintained and everything -- and that the error was on their end and not mine. Obviously now I can't be blamed for "over running " the engine with too much power because I only have a Stillen Supercharger in it at the moment, as well as a Quaife LSD & KW V3 but none of those would make the motor blow out.

Thanks for the heads up man, I appreciate it, and will be careful.

I was told to swap out the spark plugs for the GTR ones, and my mechanic who will do the engine swap told me that the stillen CC injectors that came with the kit is more than enough unless I want to go e85 then I will need to change out the fuel injectors for bigger ones, as well as fuel system to support e85 safely.

At the same time, he told me that I will need to get it tuned by an ECUTEK tune from a local shop around me as well, to safely run the car.

I had just forgot to ask him about the pulley swaps and if I should either:
A) Wait until I get the 928 super vortech impeller ceramic bearing upgrade
OR
B) It will be safe and beneficial for me still to swap out the pulleys even though I don't have the 928 ceramic bearing upgrade yet (As in it also won't shorten my lifespan of the blower by a lot if I did it without the upgrade)

No point in swapping the pulleys out until you get the super vortech upgrade as you want the ceramic bearings for the pulley upgrade. Are you going to get your car tuned by Seb, if so, call him and talk to him about your pulley upgrade. I have the 9 psi pulley installed with the Si sc and am seeing a little over 10 psi and 470 hp on 91 octane and 541 on e85. I have a 2.85 sc pulley ready to go on but Seb is a little hesitant to tune with it due to possible knock with the higher boost it will produce and running 91 octane.
Also, I highly recommend getting Tbatt's belt tensioner kit. I have no belt slippage at all. Seb was so impressed with it that he emailed me to find out where I got it, he wanted to order one for himself.
