I go MIA for 4 months and Topgun basically has his own kit ready to go congrats !

Kits running great with e85 and a couple extra goodies i had installed with CJM mostly a weekend car but living in Chicago its been put away for the winter/salt. Planning on taking the blower out to get the SI trim / impeller. is this the best route we are taking still for maximum gains? lol and where is everyone getting the 9 lbs pulley still?

Yes, the Si trim is the way to go.

To spin the charger faster you can either source the 9psi pulley, which is around $200 now from places like ConceptZ, and add a pulley or tensioner to prevent slip. Or, swap the supercharger and jackshaft pulley which are $100 each. But you have to have the right combination to avoid running out of tensioner or you will need to buy a larger tensioner idler pulley.

Hey could be worse, back in the day we were machining longer stroke tensioner brackets..lol.. Live and learn.

This is why I am making a kit that just has it all done for you guys. Si trim and all.

Just to confirm for us California folks.... since this looks like the stillen kit (majority), it's still CARB legal?

I am sure the answer is no. Even the Stillen kit doesn't get the CARB sticker if you buy the tuner one, only if you get the full kit with their canned tune. CARB is very specific.

Unfortunately it will not be CARB. brucelidat is correct, the only way to have stillen carb is the 8psi kit and their canned tune.

True, but once you have the carb sticker you can re-tune and when it's time for smog inspection as long as you have the sticker and don't throw any codes then you're good to go.

But, it wouldn't be worth the time (bureaucratic bullcrap) and money for topgunz to pursue the carb certification as he's going to sell a ton of these without it, even to California people.

True. I still feel sorry for you guys that have to put up with the CARB stuff. Seems a bit unfair in that the rest of the country can boost away while you have to live with 91 octane gas and emission restrictions that the rest of don't have to do. You guys should revolt and join the rest of us. It's not too late.....

You cant feel that bad for them, it just forces them into having to beg the wife a little harder to let them buy a car like a GTR, Vette or Viper.

considering the cost of living out there (and in many cases, the subsequent salary bumps) - those cars aren't nearly as expensive....relatively speaking ofcourse.

You did mention it but the worst part is you've got to tune for 91 octane (and our 91 is crappy) when supercharged. Which means I might just say screw it and go strictly e85 where I was originally going to go flex fuel.

On a bit of a side note has anyone had issues with the extra idler pulley (serp side) that TBatt made the adaptor for, starting to squeak? I'm already on my second idler pulley as my shop replaced the first one due to noise and my second one is doing it to now.
It seems to only happen when the engine is cold but after driving for 15 minutes it goes away and doesn't return until things have cooled down again. There's no sign of it failing though as yet...
