Minor update:

Got my new motor torn down with the help of Memphis370z as my sack holder. Much appreciated good sir! The motor was in pristine condition. The oil in it was still golden. There are barely any signs of wear on the bearings. Needless to say I'm extremely happy after what I discovered from my previous "core motor". I included a picture of one of the main bearings to show the condition of this used motor I bought. Pretty incredible. Ignore my old man looking hands.

And my torque plate from BHJ came in. My machinist didnt have one, so I went ahead a picked one up.

Also I made this nice little book of the engine portion of the FSM for quick garage reference at FedEx Kinkos. I prefer to have a hard copy rather than having to look at a tablet or something.

Im waiting on my JE 10:1 pistons now. Once they get here Ill be dropping everything off at the machine shop. Im going to try my hardest to get my Z up and running by April 1st for break-in. Then hopefully it will be tuned by May 1st. It will be tight, but if I can pull it off I can make it to ZDayZ. Which is the goal!

No worries! Being your sack holder isn't a problem, since it's so very small.

Happy for the progress and looking forward to pulling the old motor.

Loving your build thread. Best of luck and good pick on the AAM TT kit!

sub'd...you're doing what I wanted to do, switch from the BP Kit to FI Kit...but I couldn't justify spending another 12k for the same levels or more. Plus other life purchases also depleted my bank account so I'm just crippled right now lmao.:roflpuke2:

I actually got really lucky with this. The timing was right I guess. I am spending more money because I'm building my motor, but the kit actually didn't end up costing more in the long run after what it would have cost me to get the BP kit to the power I wanted.

This will be my last big hoorah for cars for a good while. The wife is baby crazy and I can't fight her off much longer lol. I just need to get this all done before that happens so that I will actually finish it.

Lucky bastard! Haha (no offense just teasing) I'm thinking if I would have done things a certain way I might have spent the same amount as I am now for the BP Kit. Damn...oh well I'm committed now. Can't wait to see your finished build tho and see the numbers you put down..ill be getting mine tuned April 1st so I'll see what happens as well

Just buy her a dog and tell her it will be good practice for raising a child and if you already ready have a dog, tell her you need another one so you are sure you are ready to have and raise children. :p

Ill be on the lookout for some results! I can't wait either. My Z has been dead for 6 months now, which feels like an eternity. I just told my wife that I still need about $5000 to finish. Im definitely testing her patience with this, but so far she has been pretty understanding. I def owe her something great once this is all done.

That would be awesome! But she's 26 turning 27 in August and she is really worried about being an old mother. So she wants a child soon lol. I keep telling her that a child will love the car when he/she gets old enough, and thats why I need to finish it.

My wife's just given me our 1st baby boy at age 36, which we think is just a good time in current economies. Don't she worry she'd be an old mum
In fact i still feel I'd have done with another year of DINKI (double income no kids) to finish my TT build but .... Shhh about it LOL

Congrats on your son!

DINKI is definitely awesome lol. We are extremely fortunate to be where we are financially at such a young age. Not rich but not much debt. She worries a lot about having children over 30 because of all of the "risks". Blah blah blah. To be honest I think both of us are ready. I just hope I don't have a daughter lol :ugh2:

Not even close to being an old mom...we had our first at 29 and next at 33. You will be just fine and you are right to complete the car fisrt, because your kids deserve the best you have before your fun begins. I still tell my wife and children that have nothing better to spend my money on than them. Keep up the good work.

Haha I know what you mean! My car cracked a Ringland April last year and I was about to buy a house so when I had to pull money for a motor build plus buying a house. My girl got a lil uneasy. But hey she was getting a house lmao. Sucked not having a car tho from April till mid July. I was going to car meets and what not with my buddies with them or in my daily. SUCKED!

Haha when my motor blew, my wife told me "You know it's going to be sitting for a long time right?" I was like dang, just kick me while I'm down why don't you. I have gone to a few car things with a friend of mine. I'm so ready to get my own Z going. Gas has been cheap cheap, the weather is going to start warming up. I need my Z!!!

Definitely a kick while you're down. But hey you're getting back up and that's what matters. You'll definitely be excited once you get it going..even just driving for the break in period. You'll be happy to just have your car again and running.
