So I picked up the innvoate oil temp/pressure gauge and there A/F gauge. I think I will skip the wrap and turbo bag for the time being. I do not see much to gain, the turbo is on the bottom, and the probability of getting fluid on it is not a risk I would like to take for 5 degrees. I believe it is on to the clutch next!

BP turbo build/advice
Skipping the heat wrap is a bad call. It'll never be easier. It keeps everything around it from getting toasted. It's a hell of a lot more than a 5 degree reduction. Plus, keeping the heat inside the pipes helps velocity, which helps spool.

I am 2 pages late but hc_416 what clutch are you going with? I am looking for a clutch as I am planning to go boost my g37 soon. Also will be my daily so hoping I can find one with relatively similar to stock clutch feel.

And for the clutch not sure yet I want O.S.Giken but I think they might be a little overpriced. I have my Southbend on there now and I am thinking about giving them a look. |

You don't wrap the headers, wrap the crossover pipe and the downpipe. Wrapped or not, if you leak fuel on the turbo you've got a major problem. Plus, if you don't wrap, all of the plastic connectors anywhere near the hot stuff will get crispy and brittle. It's a mistake to skip the heat management.

Do the heat wrap at minimum.... turbos and their piping gets pretty hot and the VQ platform already known for their overheating issues. take a few nights and wrap them. look at this review for instance... at the very end note what happens... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3m3D08CTOCU
