Fuel return

In the next week or 2 I will be installing a fuel return and bigger injectors. I have the Stillen supercharger with the 9 lb pulley. Im currently running at

Default Fuel return

In the next week or 2 I will be installing a fuel return and bigger injectors. I have the Stillen supercharger with the 9 lb pulley. Im currently running at around 10 psi on 93 octane with ECUTEK. My injectors (600cc) are maxed out and figure I will upgrade everything before something bad happens. I have 1000cc injectors to be installed and will be tuning for e85 after the install of injectors and fuel return. Ive heard great things about both the CJM fuel return and the Fast Intentions FAST-500E systems. I also currently have the Walboro 255lph fuel pump. Will that be enough or will I need a bigger fuel pump? I know a few others with the supercharger have the CJM fuel return and have no problems at all and are leaning towards getting that one but wanted to get some thoughts on what would work best?

I learned that the one thing to make sure you have is enough fuel, and then some. Sell your 255 and buy a stealth or the e85 walbro. It will be cheap, better And you can sleep better at night.

Thanks Top. Im guessing the fuel pump will just be a direct replacement? Also is the CJM S1 sufficient or would it be best to go with the CJM S1-S?

get the 340 aeromotive. if u want the 450/485 walbro, some modification would be necessary to the fuel pump module.... i think the S1-S would be best for the supercharger platform.

Im not opposed to having to make modifications for a new fuel pump. I would rather be overkill this time around and not ever have to worry about messing with the fuel system ever again.

The trouble with the Walbro 400 or 450 upgrade is that it entails removing the internal fuel filter of the pump module, therefore having to add an external filter. This about doubles the fuel system plumbing work to be done, and is overkill for the stock engine.

Personally I would not do it unless I already ran out of fuel with the Aeromotive 340, or had pending plans to outrun that pump within the next year. There is a lot of work and money saved by using the S1 or S1-S system with a stock filter and an Aeromotive pump.

For the Stillen SC we automatically recommend the S1-S as that is the main reason that system was originally built. The S1 and fuel systems like it clutter up the fuel fitting area at the front of the passenger valvecover (the factory fuel rail inlet tube fitting) where its already very tight with the Stillen SC system.

The S1-S uses the CJM rails with proprietary plumbing that eliminates the stock rail inlet tube. The S1-S upgrades everything in the bay and connects to the factory feed-pipe that routes from the fuel tank to the engine bay. The fuel lines for the rails come in from behind the motor, somewhat "shaving" the fuel system in the bay and reducing clutter by the Stillen SC throttles rather than adding to it.

The S1 system uses the stock rails and inlet tube, just upgrades the hose from the feed-pipe to the rail inlet tube, and includes the billet multi-fitting to splice off for the fuel return and regulator.

The S1-S is much easier to upgrade down the road as it already includes the billet rails and many parts from our S2-SE system, which is our external filter kit with upgraded undercar feed pipe for use with the Walbro 400/450 pumps.

I would personally recommend the S1-S for your application due to improved fit with the Stillen SC, and how it already has most of the S2-SE system should you decide to switch to the Walbro 400 or 450 pump (only needing to purchased the additional S2 parts to upgrade it, with almost nothing going to waste)

I'm not boosted, but I'm stocking up on parts for e85...1200cc FIC and an aeromotive 450 next month...once i figure out this ECU ish, i'll be able to run ecutek!

I may just suck it up and get uprev in the meantime just so I can use E85 lol


StillenZ84, 1000cc and a 340 should be good for what you want, like Charles said lol

Wow....I was considering the 450 pump....but after reading this and hearing from others that it's "harder" to install in the factory pump assembly due to its size I guess I'll be going with the 340lph Aeromotive Stealth with the CJM S1 SE Fuel System Kit.

This was a pretty old post of mine that you quoted. Since then the kits have all been revised and include an external filter (hence the E added to the kit name).

So now the only extra step is having to remove the stock filter. If you check out my PDF on fuel pump modifications, there is a section specifically for that, so you can see the extra work for removing the stock filter.

It's not too bad, and I think it might have some potential other benefits such as increasing displacement in the fuel pump canister.

Thanks for clarification Phunk.....I did more reading and began to undesrstand a little more when it comes to the 400 series pump....so going with this u have to upgrade to ths S2-SE? I know the S1-SE also has the exterior filter but when reading around, the advertisement says that the S2-SE is the only system that supports the Walbro 400 series pump.
