What were you using for a fuel system? Certainly not a big surprise for it to let go in the mid 700s although I would have expected it to go longer. But to lose a second at 600, I wonder if theres something else going on that took out both of them rather than just too much power. Mind sharing your ignition timing figures?

I'm wondering the same thing and going to do some digging. The second engine didn't blow up like the first, I think I caught it before it got bad. I think it's bending rods. It started out you could hear a cylinder down on compression when cranking and had a noise like a rod tick at about 3krpm. By the time I got it back to Dallas, it lost most compression in a cylinder. I'm not sure about the timing. That would be a question for Rob. |
