Help! GTM TT kit - does evap hose by pass manifold left unconnected?

Please see the procedure on page 77:

It shows the evap hose left unconnected while the fuel line is extended. Is that supposed to be? Thanks for anyone with experience.

May not be EVAP? the other end is labeled the "purge hose" on the other end and is pictured on page 15 and 17.

Please kill this thread. I got answers and they are in my other thread. purge hose stays connected.
