Stage 2 sc build has begun

Not sure if the heat shield will help for the intake temps in that location ..mainly need it to protect the filter from melting ....and what would be the essayist

Not sure if the heat shield will help for the intake temps in that location ..mainly need it to protect the filter from melting ....and what would be the essayist way to change the supercharger oil ..I don't really see any drains...so do you just drain the resivor?

Tow bar, reinforcement bar same thing, your tow hook threads into it if car happens to fail

Even the stock front bumper scoops up air to your intercooler, that's the reason for the intercooler, to allow outiside air to pass thru it to cool charge air, that's why hot intake air causes things like detonation and loss of power. You pack a supercharger or even turbo under our already saunas for engine bays and you are upping the temp big time of the incoming air to our plastic intake manifolds, don't get me started on those lol.

Yea I know how the intake temps affect everything ... just didn't think removing the row bar would help very much

Take a look at the one fast intentions sells, could easily be replicated, my reinforcement bar covers a lot of my intercooler,like at least half

In my opinion, I can't see that heat would affect the S.C. intake when at speed.
Idling, yes.. Lot's of heat there..
The crash bar is behind the bumper so I don't know if there's much effect there ..
Somewhat unrelated, I use a Spal fan on my oil cooler. Makes a huge difference.

You guys really don't think that covering half the intercooler has any effect on intake air temps? Even at speeds?

Guess I'll be the guinea pig, carbon fibre ts vented hood and stillen bumper. See how it works out.

Not sure how your guys cars react but on a decently warm day at speed if you don't turn ac on the z gets crazy warm in cabin,almost like the heat from the engine bay has nowhere to go, kinda like the Dodge Vipers back in the 90s, just my opinion.

Yea cover the intercooler woukd affect its cooling ability ...I was saying that even with the bar gone that section will still be covered with the bumper...

Take off supercharger fluid line from the reservoir(the one on top) and place it into empty bottle. This will be your waste fluid. Have your new fluid ready. Have a helper start the car for you. At the same time the old fluid starts to drain into the waste bottle, you keep adding new fluid into the reservoir until you have about 1/4 bottle left of new fluid. At that point have you helper shut off the car. You want some left just incase you need to add it for proper fluid level. Hope that helps.

I have a TS vented hood, with OEM coupe front bumper and standard crash bar.
Sitting in traffic in Houston for over an hour my temps are usually this:
-Water 210F
-Oil Temp 220F
-Intake Air Temp varies depending on outside temp mainly but stopped traffic I over 20-30 degrees over what the car states is the outside temp. I move forward a bit or roll 5-10mph and it drops quickly to 15-20 degrees over ambient

A vented hood works great in the heat and traffic and on the great 100+ days here in Houston can be a life saver, though I try not to drive far on those days or get stuck in traffic.

Oh ya I agree, iam hoping the stillen bumper will help pick up abit better flow thru the intercooler.

Also even if the ts carbon hood doesn't make a huge difference it looks amazing

I don't really have heavy traffic where I'm at so even on 100+ days my oil temp stays 220 or less and water temp by the OEM gauge is little less than half. I would consider those "normal" operating temps but I think main thing is keeping the intake/charge temp lowest possible. Hottest parts are the location of the intake filter under the header....then the intercooler having most flow to it possiable .

Ya I have my car on the hoist and am trying to figure out a way to incorporate a heat shield for the sc filter.

Jinxx did you drill into your intake for vacuum for your cj fuel regulator?

Damn you guys my oil temps are 180 cruising and the highest I've seen it get during the day while driving for a while is like 190ish- 195 then it drops back down but when I drive I have a Mishimoto 25 row and I live in Florida
