My GF and I were just talking the other day about how cold it is here (high in the 60's). Meanwhile.. I had been bugging Groove about his progress and as we were speaking he texts me "Windchill of -35 so I haven't been able to work on the car much"

I did live in NYC for 4 years so I kind of get it.

We might just be a touch bitter that we have to leave our Z's locked up for 5 months while you southerners debate whether your max performance tires will lose a little traction on the "brisk" 60 degree January morning commute. If i didn't like our summer months so much I think i'd come down and join the 12 month party.

I have noticed my turbos spooling much faster in the "cold" weather.. I can hear them whine right now when I am casually accelerating in traffic.

You are going to learn to hate the summer because it not only costs you a good amount of HP but you also lose that spool quickness too.

Yeah, I had the joy of moving here in November so just in time for the winter months with not even being able to say I love the summers. I hear they are amazing though and I am really excited. Bought a Wildcat and can not wait to go rip up some of the forest trails in the state parks!

Sounds like the best would be to go poop in Texas in Winter then come back and hang here in the summer.

Wait...was the poop talk in a different thread?

Torn, It would be super fun to boost it. But then its when not if is it going to break. its nice to be able to beat on it with out worrying a whole lot. My brother is picking up either a new Z06 or GTR though so might have to boost to keep up with him.

You can still beat the piss out of it when its boosted too and it makes it that much more fun. Just need a good tune.

Well see. I agree it would be fun. I might throw a supercharger on it in a year or two. less maintenance fewer things to go sideways on a guy.

I disagree. There's more maintenance on a SCer since it has oil changes. The tubro setups get their cooling from areas that are already part of the system (i.e. either engine oil or coolant) so that maintenance happens with normal upkeep. You do have to check vacuum hoses for WGs but that's pretty easy. If you do the proper care during install you will take care of any of the things that might go sideways.

So if you had a V1 or V2 vortech, which are plumbed into oil pan, would you still say superchargers are more maintenance?
