Does anyone else get all happy when they find out about a boost build?
Just like the title states. I get happy and really interested when I see turbo/supercharger build. It's so interesting watching and following people's thought, ideas and goals as they build.

I do.
And I'll be contributing my own build this Christmas! Parts are already on the way. =) |
For sure, especially when somebody does something different from what is already on the market. Just because I build these turbo kits, doesn't mean I don't get excited when somebody else tries something that has not been seen around here.
For some reason I also (always) look at the turbine sizes, and try to predict (in my head) what the final numbers will be, where the HP will start to taper off (due to turbine size), and how well it will spool. As my wife says, I am after all, a child trapped in a 6'2" frame. |
Holy hell your big! No wonder why you need boost. The car needs all the help it can get to look g you around. I can totally understand on the turbo spec/results thing. I mean that's your thing!

I do too, always inspired to see builds progressing
|
Absolutely!
370Z+boost=winning |
I get jealous as shitt! :shakes head:
But, I read everything that they are doing to see what problems they run into, and if they are ding anything different. |
Not me. I hate boost.
|
No. :iagree:
I get excited and impressed when I see a really awesome N/A build put down 375whp natural. That is, also the plan for my Z...Not many fully built N/A guys out there. FI is boring to me now, and every other car has a factory turbo these days. Please give me NATURAL power, the best kind. Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk |

BOOST IS BOSS!!!! And Yzgyz, yes. I follow every FI build posted on the site. I've also had many long conversations with members that want to discuss decisions along the way. |
^^ I ran faster 1/4 mile than some boosted guys there pushing 500-600whp. Of course, they cant hook up but still...I have 2 stillen mods and a tune....but BOOST IS BOSS!!
I like usable, reliable natural power. I bet my engine lasts way longer than most of the boosted Z's too. :iagree: Sorry didn't mean to rain on your guys parade lolz....I'll be leaving now Sent from my SM-G860P using Tapatalk |
Watching 2 builds now because they are both close to what I would want to do. They are taking forever to get finished though... LOL
|
NA engine are nice. But, If I wanted a nice NA engine, I'd go by the displacment thing. I'd get a big ol AMERICAN BLOCK!

Some form of the new LT'X' in either a C7 or Camaro |
Haha ha... Stillwell. I was being sarcastic. No way a 550whp z would lose to one under 400. That's just stupid. Unless his side of the track was lubed up more then Jenna Jameson and his tires were made of plastic.
I had a turbo kit on then went full bolt on breather then sc. I was embarrassed to try to take anyone on the street na. It felt like my car was dragging a pile of bricks behind it. Honestly, id sell my z if I couldn't be boosted. So, Yes I get happy when I hear about boost! |
Lol nice :bowrofl:

Definitely....With every boost build...or any build at all there's always something good to learn....Trials and errors....I've come to see so many different boost builds where some things work for one build but didn't on another....A wealth of knowledge and experience here for sure....I have to say that I have been a member of all kinds of car forums, but this forum is really productive and has a lot good information and experience....Hands down..... best car related forum I've been a member of....

Until proven otherwise, my claims are valid. :iagree: Lol |
If you somehow beat a boosted Z at the strip, it was driven by an amputee. Or you're completely ignoring trap speed. And plenty of people here have lots of boosted miles on their car.
|
Is racing for pink slips still a thing? If so, I'm in. To bad I wouldn't be able to sell the components off your na build.
|
A boost build is very interesting. You get to learn so much about the VQ engine when you read them. I'm planning to boost my Z in the distant future, so the more knowledge I can take now, the better it is.

We were discussing "boring" boosted builds and you came in running your cockwarmer about how you beat boosted zs at the strip. Please, go on telling us how your bolton 370 is both faster and will last longer than our boosted Zs. It's still early, so we haven't had our daily dose of moron yet. Might as well have you do that for us.

if someone cant get off the line you can beat them. |

I don't like the logic of the NA engine lasting longer than a boosted, because it's NA.
If it's a proper tune and properly maintained, they should/could last just as long as one another. And if something does happen to go wrong (running lean, etc.) then the operator needs to be able to identify that so they can remedy it and save the engine. |
