Hey Bullitt,
How many times has your car tried to kill you?

Anyone can chime in. Just a fun thread to discuss how many times you needed to clean your shorts, seats, or whatever. Be safe out there.

Well I take that back... Once! 4th Gear Pull (7000rpm) Traction control off on a wet tarmac and the car violently went sideways.... A cool head prevailed and I used throttle modulation to drift and bring the car back straight... One of my buddies was following me and thought I did it on purpose lol he was like "I could see your rear brakes as you were leaving me behind!" the road was straight LOL...

I will say this... there is not a funner car to drive! and every car feels broken after driving that car... Your perception of speed and time is on a whole new level... Drive the Dragon for a few miles and then jump into my NA nismo and I am like I could thrash the ever loving Chit out of this thing its sooo slow!

A 4th gear pull at 7k. I bet going sideways at 120 really puckered your butthole.

And mine has yet to try and kill me. Bullitt is right. When you have this level of power at the throttle you drive completely different. I used to beat the G up as NA because all the suspension and traction was there to do so. Now not the case.

Mine is similar to what has been stated...I goosed it when getting onto the interstate in Vegas. I was in 3rd and ran it up to 7k shifted into 4th right as I was changing lanes and she stepped out. I had my wife in the car and I said oh **** just as she straighten back up and we head down the highway. She was like what's wrong...I laughed and said didn't you feel that, she said yes I thought you meant to do that. I just laughed.

It's always surprises me when the wheels break loose in 3rd or 4th gear since getting better tires. Also, now with EcuTek, the traction control is awesome. I feel much safer when accelerating hard...especially out of turns. One of the best safety features on the car now.

LOL, I was not so lucky one day when I had a passenger in one of my 280's. Doing donuts in a ditch at a buck ten and going backwards over a culvert was not cool. For this reason I don't drive hard with passengers in the car or with other folks following me. My good friend from high school reminded me of all the crazy stuff I use to do. I didn't think it was crazy back then.

This is so true. ...I guess with age comes wisdom. .....I think about all the crazy ways I used to push my cars to the limit from my teenage years to my 20's....every time i look back at it I ask myself "What the F*** were u thinking?"

My car never has. But my tires have! I'll say this...Don't have extreme performance summer tires on when temps dip below 50 in the morning. Mine stepped out on the interstate getting into the fast lane. I barely held on. Was almost a disaster. But that was with the bp kit and I accidently went into boost in 4th so all that torque ramped in hard.

I respect the boost. I love it much but never gone max speed since boosting. NA, I have gone 137 mph on a long strait empty stretch. The fastest I have gone since turbo was 124 in the 1/4 mile. That's what it said on the ticket but I will still not in the 11's.. Guess I got up there at the last bit. I don't mess around in anything but dry roads. I'm either a pansy, don't want to wreck my baby, hurt others, die or all of the above. Sure I have fishtailed a little from mashing the gas hard but that was expected. I have many more miles to go so maybe one day it will happen.

Yup. Anything below about 55 deg and the tires become hockey pucks until you warm them up.

So true. By far the most dangerous opportunity for disaster. They won't grab to straighten you out after they get quirky either. So when they come back it's much harder to correct it. Warm tires will grab it back for you.

Get winter or all season if you drive in the cold. Or die!!!!
