Fast Intentions Front Tow Bar with "shallnotbenamed" Supercharger Intercooler?

Hi guys,

Tried to do a search but didnīt see anything out there. Two questions:

The "shallnotbenamed" intercooler fits behind the OE Crash Bar. Given that fact, is it relatively safe to assume that the FI Tow Bar will fit as well? I understand there are no guarantees unless someone else has done it, just wanted to get thoughts on it.

In general, would this type of bar improve airflow to the intercooler and radiator?

I would bet yes it will, below are 2 photos that give a good comparison. Since the F.I. uses the factory bolt locations I would say it is a safe bet it will fit and maybe provide better airflow since it is a smaller piece overall.

It would most likely fit from looking at it but I'm not sure it'll add much cooling. On the unnamed kit it looks like most of the OEM bar is up with the end tanks of the cooler so it's possible the same amount of area gets blocked on the finned area. After that you get into flow against a channel area compared to flow around a pipe. The pipe is three times less restrictive but that's too far into engineering considering the unknowns. :ugh2:

Thanks guys!

Good point jwick. I will take a closer look at how much, if any, area the stock bar blocks on the IC. That being said, money is probably better spent on other cooling mods.

Like a vented hood :stirthepot:

I have one and love it but I don't think it will do much for air flow/cooling. For cooling a vented hood and a bumper with a larger open area would help more.

Then where to order this bar? There's nothing about tow bar at the website

Out of curiosity what does the bar cost?

370Z Lightweight Front Tow Bar, Fast Intentions

I already have plans for a vented hood.

I am stuck at the front end, though. since I donīt really love the look of many aftermarket front ends, or rather, i feel like they look strange without the rest of the accompanying mods (side skirts, rear end, etc). I would prefer to keep my body-lines stock/mostly-stock/not-a-body-kit. So I have been trying to think of ways to maximize the flow through the factory front. When I posted the question I was in the reduce restrictions/make ducting stage.

The two best for aero and air flow are the Nismo 09 to 14 and the Amuse front bumpers. I also like Fugimura!

I read this somewhere. I was tempted to go Nismo, and do the full kit. but I specifically didnīt buy a Nismo because I preferred the look of the non-Nismo 370. The advantage this has is that it would look factory, even though it isnīt the factory look I prefer.

Fujimura is high on my list. I canīt remember which member has a Fujimura front with the Nismo body kit and it looks pretty legit. That might be an option as well.

Thanks again guys! Keep the suggestions coming.
