There is a real good shot of the turbo setup a few seconds in.

YouTube - Turbo Eclipse - no music
That actually looked great! Great way to display how well the system can be integrated!

I think beside it being 'too' loud - if you can find that perfectly sized turbo to come off with a strong linear powerband, this is definitly a great solution.

Thats not where the pump goes... It is a SCAVENGE pump like 5 psi at most it is after the turbo and pumps the oil back up to the engine so the turbo can drain and receive oil flow to cool it. Idiot light is what they have done but it doesn't come with the kit so if nobody warned you about it you would just have to now that it is something extra you need to buy for the kit.

Yeah but if we are talking strictly STS kits as the thread states you don't get any of that and need to add it, all i'm sayin. YOu can build w/e the hell type of rear mount kit you wan't and you are on your own with that one. Personally i allways wanted to try putting them inside the hatch of the car under the rear glass with ventelation/thermal blankets/bitchin chrome heatshields, to get around the water issue. I have seen turbo's in the trunk already on a 5.0 drag mustang.

Ive seen the STS first hand on some of the newer mustangs and Im not impressed at all by the build quality. Some people swear by them though bc its a cheaper alternative.

You lost me there. Isn't reliability a reflection of build quality? It might not be a bunch of chrome piping or whatever you're speaking of (please enlighten me), but it gets the job done and it gets it done right. Like I said earlier, my friend has had his STS kit on his newer mustang for 1 & 1/2 years and hasn't had a single problem. None.

I owned the red sts 350 that alot of you guys have probably seen on youtube. It was a great power adder that was reliable for me for two years and 27,000 miles boosted at 8psi (350whp/wtq on an auto). The sound is not bad at all, and the lag is comprarable to other single turbos (should be less on a 370z with that extra displacement). Anyone in the charlotte area check out cin motorsports, they do great work and have worked closely with sts in the 350z kit development.

Did you have any trouble hitting the rev limiter during auto shifts under power? I've read about a lot of people haing this issue using F.I. with the 5AT due to slightly slower shift speeds.

I'm glad to see a post about this. I have looked at these guys forever and now I have the vehicle that I want to put it on. In Indiana I have found that there are not a ton of tuners nearby.

I live an hour north of Indianapolis and there is a guy there who I talked with that sells and installs STS Turbos. He wants me to come down so he can take a look at my car and run it on the dyno with all of the upgrades that I have added before we do anything. I don't believe anyone has posted this yet but it shows that there isn't much turbo lag. I hope its accurate, but looks good to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdjh3EY6shU

Can't decide what the hell to do. As I said before there isn't a whole lot of tuning going on around these parts so it seems like it makes since to go with a kit that a guy works with. (He is also one of the dealers mentioned on the STS website.)---Its a tough call with all the other topics I am reading on the different turbos coming out and even the superchargers have me excited...damn!!

I'm in the same boat, only thing is I bought mine to drive on a daily basis and not a weekend car so I'm just a little worried that this will put it over the top.

I'd love to have the turbo system but 15K or so installed is just more then I can handle... The STS system is MUCH cheaper.

Just do it...be the guinea pig for all of us!!!

When I spoke to the guys at STS they told me the universal kit was available for the 370z. I let them know I would only be interested in a kit made specifically for the 370. I would suggest you guys wait until they make one for us.

I am with you on the whole "put it over the top" idea. After watching "Two Guys and a Garage" the horsepower difference was crazy with just one turbo and no tuning.... I was thinking about twins but I don't know if I'm quite ready for building the engine up to take it... I am just thinking 450 rwhp... I wish someone would hurry up and drop a supercharger that isn't freakin silent so I can compare some pricing and some dynos... (I'm pretty sure we've all seen the price tag on the twin turbos...for that kind of money I want something that is 100% reliable, no problems.)

Hell ya man, I'm in Muncie.... Mine is a DD except for rain and snow lol, unless its for some reason dirty, then I drive it in the rain. Pretty nice to feel like I'm not burning up my tires as bad as dry pave when those turns get a little slippery and my foot gets a little heavy. I definitely want to go down there and see what this guy has to say and see if he is knowledgeable with the STS stuff.

I know I'm writing little novels here but 1 question: If I get the rear mounted turbo then get the itch to drive it in the rain, would it be damn near impossible for me not to get the turbo wet? lol this one might be dumb, sorry (I was just thinking I could avoid puddles really well, because I already do)

Yes. Although I can't tell you how much the oil temperature will decrease, it certainly helps.
