To earleier post:
If you can help it, you don't want anything to make contact with your turbine/compressor wheel. Options for CARB issues would be return to stock for inspection or get a gutted HFC/Cat AND ensure that your tune can pass the sniffer test (if they do that in your area). If you run a HFC/Cat, you will need to inspect it quite frequently to prevent an "unfortunate" situation! Tower: Are you getting bored with the 7AT?

^nah..it's just I haven't found any upgrades for that tranny and I'm worried that if I continue increasing the HP that I will shred to pieces. Tons of upgrades for the manual.

Seriously though, I still wouldn't run stock cats with this setup. Or you may end up like that plane in the water. Last edited by Cell; 01-13-2012 at 02:08 AM. |

Twin Turbo with Stock Cats?
2007 Mustang GT. Getting rid of STS TURBO-Thinking about a Paxton - Ford Mustang Forums MY350Z.COM Forums - View Single Post - Official STS Rear Mount Turbo Discussion Thread Corvette Forum - View Single Post - STS Twin Turbo I can go on and on with a simple search. But I guess everyone is right and that it's "not a problem." well as the owner of a turbo car running 18psi i can tell you for a fact that having a stainless core cat will DRASTICALLY reduce the chances of cat failure. ceramic core cats are more inexpensive but often prematurely fail in turbo cars because of the excessive heat. many people dont consider this when goin from NA to turbo but its definately something to look into

If a product had 95% great reviews and 5% terrible, chances are it is a great product. If a product has 50% great reviews and 50% terrible reviews, it will make you think twice. I was only trying to show that the cats are a problem when people say they aren't. I am just looking out for the best of others that are running this kit. I mean if you truly want to stick with the cats then by all means stay with it. But just saying "not a problem" is realistically not true because nothing is perfect. |
