I took those pics... the piping isn't as low as it looks in the pictures. It doesnt hang any lower than the FI exhaust. I can guarantee that.

Any chance this will pass CARB in CA since it is all post-emissions equipment?

i dont understand having a fan blowing on the turbo from behind like that??? when your hauling *** the only air available back there is what was channeled under the car and out the back. not directly blowing from behind.

I wondered that myself... PLUS with these systems, you want the turbo to be as hot as possible, the more the turbo heats up the quicker it spools.

Yeah, no...

The more heat the turbo system is allowed to contain up until the turbine nozzle, the better. Beyond that, you want things to be cool as with anything else. Introducing heat or allowing turbo components to heat soak does nothing for performance.

It's the exhaust charge that you want to remain hot - that is, of a high velocity (in this case the exhaust charge loses energy through lost heat). STS coats their piping inside and out to help with this. Looks like the turbine housing has a blanket on it as well so more insulation there.

The fan is doing nothing there except helping flow some fresh air to the intake.

have you owned a rear mount kit? I have. We considered putting a turbo blanket on the turbo. The hotter the turbo gets the quicker it spools up.

Have you:

- built over a dozen engines to various specifications for street/strip/ridiculous power output usage
- ported and polished cylinder heads for high-output turbo V6 applications to optimize top-end while maintaining spool
- designed and reworked turbo piping for a transverse-mount V6 to produce optimal spool
- ported cast turbo manifolds to equalize runner length and balance flow
- personally rebuilt various turbochargers after failures
- chosen a turbo for a particular application, spending months researching compressor efficiency maps and simulating engine output
- tuned half a dozen separate high-specific-output cars on various tuning platforms for supercharged/NA/turbocharged power
- dedicated yourself to personally researching engine and turbocharger technology for the past 5 years, developing and innovating new ideas for your own projects

?

You're barking up the wrong tree. What I stated is 100% accurate; what you have to present is how a newbie would explain why "more heat" is better for a turbocharged setup.

Is this car still at Uprev? I'd like to drop by and see it if so. I live about 5 min away. Very interested in what this setup can do.

Edit: Nvm. gonna head down to Uprev later tonight and check it out.
