I have left two messages with these people asking about the universal kit and options. No one has called me back. It has been 3 days. kinda lame if you ask me...
Its ashame because I am interested. Can't seem to get anyone to answer the damn phone. I guess they don't like money. Oh, I got the 350z link on the STS website to work: Squires Turbo Systems - Nissan 350Z Last edited by kdoske; 02-05-2010 at 10:07 PM. |

I tried contacting them months ago, before I dropped the car off at Vortech. Phone call and 2 emails, I got one automated response saying they didn't make a kit for the 370z and to look at the universal one. None of my specific questions were every answered. Still interested though.

I have done a lot of research on the system and it seems that a twin rear turbo for most v6 cars will not work with a rear turbo system. Seems that your car needs a lot of displacement to make twin turbos work/worth wild. I had been trying to confirm my suspicion by looking at the 350 setup but the link was broken on the website. Luckily for me I finally got it to work by adding a '_' to the end of the link. Once there my suspicions were confirmed. The 350 kit is only a single turbo. I'm pretty sure the 370 would need to be as well.

Sent them two emails, followed with two calls and left a message this morning. Hmmmmmm. Offered them my car and perhaps an even better opportunity but no response back.
Hopefully they are just that busy and we'll hear back pretty quick. Fingers still crossed...

I really do want to go the turbo route and find a way for all of us to afford it without dropping tons of $. I know I'll get bashed that you can't go cheap on certain things but I'm still not on board with this whole $10K++++ turbo kit.
I KNOW there is a more reasonable route! I will find a way!!!!!!

even a good single turbo would be good and cheaper. But with the way they are going on their phone and email service, id be a little hesitant on them now.

Maybe you should switch your focus to a proper turbo system. Much like any other type of product, you get what you pay for. Trying to go cheap on FI is a losing bet.

So my friend and a couple of his friends with sts kits on their vehicles went with an "improper system" and "got what they paid for?" Running for years with ZERO issues but it's an "improper system". Lol, ok. I don't know why sts isn't being professional with their service. But their kits are damn good.

Agreed, nothing wrong with STS systems. There is just this weird stereotype with the systems since STS has monopolized the market for rear turbo's and people trying to do it themselves with random turbo's typically give less then great results.
Despite the LOL above I still believe rear mounts are different and large displacement engines are required to spool two turbos properly regardless of the turbo type. Not saying it wouldn't work but I don't think the extra cost would be worth the benefit for the small gains with our engine. The fact that the STS system for 350' isn't even offered in a twin setup pretty much tells me that this is true. Probably has largely to do with heat from the exhaust I would imagine. Hell maybe im wrong. only way to know for sure is to call STS, but oh wait that's right! They don't' communicate with there potential customers--lame. |
