Anyone heard of these guys before? They're selling a kit for $10,900 and that price includes installation and tuning. It looks like the VSR kit. vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG7CS6QuXO8 kit: 370Z Turbo

And in Tampa? It's got to be Bobby from VSR's new shop. He's got to keep blowing up cars and ruining motors somehow. Some turds just won't flush.

10,9 for install, tune and kit just seems too good to be true. You probably don't have to drop the motor for this install, correct? If so, then I guess the cost of install and tune isn't really worth what they're asking.

It's not bobby's new shop, There are three shops not including zfever in Florida doing a top mount style kit like this one but all having a few differences ( turbo, piping size, bov etc) to keep them distinct,
Revworks Vortex Motorsport ( formally known as VSR, shop that did mine, look out for my review ) PRS automotive ( bobby's new shop ) And I guess now zfever, OP for what it's worth I've heard good things about zfever, but if you're interested in this style of kit vortex has my vote, give them a call.

Thanks for the info. It looks like they've built quite a few Nissans, vk swaps, turbo and built motors. I just never heard of them before which I would expect to, considering the projects/builds.
Any cons w/ top mount single?

No real cons, the heat can be an issue if it isn't done right, but the kit has evolved ( speaking on the vortex kit specifically ) and the fabricators are pretty experienced in getting things fabbed up with the right clearances. One thing to pay attention to, besides the turbo being used, when going for the top mount kit is the quality of the fab work. this varies a good amount between these shops from what I've seen.

I'm still debating if I want to go w/ the BP kit since it will look a little cleaner under the hood, but this kit is intriguing. Thanks again, subbed your build thread.

Can't go wrong with the BP kit to be honest, it was my first choice but the timing didn't work out for me. Price wise at the end of it if done right both will cost around the same. Here's an early pic of my engine bay, minus a few things. https://instagram.com/p/36qq7YDtJo/

That is a pretty nice bay! What did they do w/ you coolant reservoir tank? I assume you would have to remove that front pipe to fill it in the future?

10k or around there is what my local shop quoted me for a mid mount single turbo install and tune. Can't really go wrong with that. These guys do godlike work. Freeking magicians.

When you say "they", are you talking about your local shop or Z fever?

I'm guessing you mean JTRAN? They also do a great kit. There's a lot of options out there that aren't covered much on the forums.

My car is in the shop now, these guys have done everything to my car up until now (see sig). They have immense amount of experience in the shop and on the track and only deal with nissan/infiniti. Their tuner also has quite an amazing reputation.
They currently have a built FX35 putting out 1000 whp too that is in the shop and just about complete (google, very easy to find it). They're legit & this kit uses proven components. 490whp & 430wtq on that 370z @ 9psi is awesome, that dyno crushes dreams. When I dyno'd my g37 there bone stock I made 265whp, full bolt ons & a tune I settled at 301whp and 255wtq. I'm supposed to be getting forged rods/pistons (pending external factors), upgraded valve body & their turbo kit. My build should be complete by the middle of July hopefully. Since I have a 5at, the tranny will be the limiting factor since i will only have the valve body upgrade & tranny cooler. I'm hoping to end up in the 500-525whp range, safely, with plenty of room for growth if my tranny allows or i come up with cash for a L10 build in the future. I put my down payment about a week ago, can barely sleep at night edit; while it looks like the vsr kit b/c of the turbo location, the components are very different. read the detailed kit specs on the link in OP.

^ thanks for the info. It's an interesting kit. I hope you write a review after you get your car back.
