JESUS CHRIST!!! Tell me about it. Ordered in freakin April. They are in Cali and the shop couldn't afford to pay bc they had fraud on their account. So even though I paid the full amount, they apparently had't paid their supplier the full amount. So that was held for two weeks. he gets it resolved a week and a half ago, pays the supplier, says they are coming. Wait a week, no wheels. Finally get in touch today. They are shipping tomorrow. WHAAAAT????? Mother of god it's been a nightmare, but should have them beg of next week. Unbelievable it takes less time to for an entire Twin Turbo system to be constructed, installed PLUS 3 more months than it does for some flipping wheels to come in.

If you can't tell this one is clawing at me.

Hotrodz 10-22-2015 08:56 AM

I was looking forward to seeing them on Saturday! Well I guess we will have make plans for the future!

Work vs-xx. I get that they take a while from the manufacturer, anything JDM will but the company tacked on an extra month with their antics. And I don't even have them yet. Needless to say its the last time. I've heard great things about VIVID Racing, but my worry would be that I don't have anywhere here to install the wing (mostly this) hood and side mirror I want. So back to square 1 of trying to find a good shop for the "looks" aspect of the Z. :/

Nice looking wheels, but they are heavy as hail. IMHO, you will feel the poorer performance if you choose a work wheel.

LOL not with 648 whp bro. The few pounds extra is not even going to be a possible measurement to even consider when you are running that kind of power. Plus the new tires will actually increase what I'm able to put to pavement.

Streetz 10-28-2015 07:58 AM

Was 648 your final numbers? I just read threw a couple pages and never saw a dyno graph or final numbers on E85.

What kind of power are you going to keep it at for daily use?

Yes sir! at 13.2 lbs she hit 648. HOWEVER I'm making a trip to FI tomorrow, might push it a little more ;) Tony and Seb were being safe, I want the chains off! LOL

Daily use, I've actually been driving around at 9lbs. Mainly bc it's so new and I'm damn happy with the power it's putting down so far, but also bc I'm waiting for my damn new tires/wheels to come in. I have no traction as it is on the nismo tires that are supposed to be "sticky" from the dealer. It'll be at 11lbs when those come in. LOL Crazy thing is I'm not losing traction shifting gears, it's when the turbos spool that the tires just can't hold. So I have 3 settings on my boost controller. Boost contoller off (6lbs), daily drive (9-11 lbs) and a third setting when someone needs to be taught a lesson (13lbs) LOL!

Streetz 10-29-2015 07:45 AM

Not sure how much further i would push it passed 650whp. Torque has got to be getting up there, Puts so much stress on those tooth pick rods. Ya they might not break but it sure fatigues them over time.

When my 350 was at 650whp i could hook second on concrete and thats about it. I like the Nitto NT05R's, and the ET street 2's. They only last about 3k miles but they will hook in second almost every time. I have the Toyo Tq's on my car now. They were ok in the beginning but fade off towards the end. I did manage to get 10K miles out of them. There slightly better then the R888 but not as good as the Nt05 or ETs2.

Good luck on the tuning!

Thanks man! Love the tire recommendations. Saving this just for that. I fully plan to be going through tires quite often and trying out all kinds. This is great info. Not a daily driver, so I am looking for more stick than longevity.

I'm at 665whp and I can definitely feel the difference between different wheel weights. :tiphat:

I understand some of these words! LOL Sorry, What do you mean? These were the Bridgestone Potenza Re050 if that's the q! LOL! :tiphat:

They seem pretty bada55! But I'm thinking of going with the infamous r888s everyone keeps talking about next. ;)

LMAO! Dude, it wasn't even a car I paid any attention to. The Z def got some great attention and some wonderful remarks, BUT the Porsche GT4s stole the show. I can pull on them on a straight line, but mother of god it's like a symphony is playing watching those babies wined through the curves. That's what half a million gets you, LOL! Video coming soon!! :D

Incredible build man! Cant wait to see more content of the car!

I am amazed at the power output on the stock motor.

HAHA! Thanks man! I was really happy with the way this one turned out! "Track day" vid is loading now too! :D Will post in the AM.

I thought I was at 13, but now when I watch the boost gauge closely (camera doesn't do the best job of it) it looks like only upper 11s. I checked my peak boost and it said 13.2, but I'm starting to think I may have spiked it bc I was doing some burnouts just before this. Trying to heat up dem tires! LOL oh and e85 all day! ;)

Night guys!

GeauxTigers1 11-18-2015 11:03 AM

TWO videos in less than 12 hours!? Whaaaa? First Ever Track Day! Boost turned down to 9lbs, wanted to make sure I could keep her facing forward on my first day :ughdance:

It has to be one of the best things I've ever done in the Z! Now I just have to get better at it! LOL I had the new wheels (literally not even 24 hours) on so I was a little worried to push it and have them meet Mr. Gravel off the pavement. LOL But new "track" wheels coming! That way I can put some ridiculous tires on there too.:driving:

Tires are actually pretty dang good, (RE050) but you are right, these demand MOAR. Plus it was pretty cold out so idk the temp of the tires when I made this run. R888s I believe are in my near future! I've been recommended those by a few sources!

GeauxTigers1 11-18-2015 02:51 PM

HAHA! Seriously man! You know it's a crazy crowd when the Z is the bottom of the barrel in terms of cars there. LOL!

Hotrodz 11-18-2015 04:54 PM

There seem to be a lot wheel spin when shifting gears, I don't get that much with warm tires but I have RE -11s which have more bite. What did you have the TC set at or did you pretty much turn it off?

Meh, cold day, on a basic road, not too bad of traction considering the conditions. I mean, I didn't hit any curbs or anything? :inoutroflpuke: Aahahah!! :D

TC was turned up pretty high! Personally I feel like TC doesn't do a whole heck of a lot. I mean I'm sure it does compared to none, just seems like the car still slips plenty. Idk maybe we will get together and compare. These tires more than anything came with the wheels, shop I ordered with recommended them and we see how that turned out with the fact the damn wheels took forever and then ended up to where I had to get the things myself in Cali. Some companies just can't hold up to FI standards ;)
