You dont need axles. The trick to not breaking the driveline is to preload before launching. Which is very easy, just very lightly let up the clutch until you feel the drivetrain is loaded and then slip it out hard. No problem. You should be doing this always anyway. It doesnt hurt to carry a spare axle with you... but overall the stock axles can handle the power. Shocking the driveline will break any axles you put in sooner than later.
As for the diff mount, you just need to install the whiteline differential bushings. The stock bushings are too soft and will fail quickly. These bushings are cheap and install is pretty easy... hardest part is getting the stock rear one out. There is no welding or fabricating involved.

If they welded anything it was probably just to repair damage from the stock bushings failing before upgrading to the white line ones.. Otherwise I can't think of anything back there to weld on.

Hurry da fak up and start cutting then Charles! don't worry man you know that my car is being built for straight light purposes so I'm going to be shooting for deep nines. Maybe next spring after I've had plenty of passes under my belt ill shoot for a perfect 8 second run but that's going to take some serious time spent at the strip with this 6MT

So i took my dad for a ride on saturday since the weather was nice. It was his first time seeing the car since I shipped it out. His impression on the car was:
"This is a freaking rocket ship... no its a star ship! Once you hit the gas I was pinned to the seat and couldn't even move! It just ungodly fast! even my race bikes wouldn't stand a chance against this! I felt like i was seeing stars and thought the car was going to do a wheelie!" Needless to say he had a blast and it was only a short ride. we hit 25psi which is in the 900+rwhp range on a couple of runs.

But yes you can load up the car really well in a manual, but requires a lot of hand and foot work. Also, like he said smaller brakes on the rear, 15-16" wheel, zero to a degree positive camber on the rear, air down tires. I haven't gone as far as smaller brakes, but I am finally going to a 18" wedsport TC105n with MT street slicks in the rear this year. Even dropping the tire pressure on a 19 to around 25psi makes a world of difference. If you kill the motor, not launching at a high enough RPM and try again. |

And a soft rear suspension. Changing rear geometry a bit to have no camber, taller tires, super soft drag radials, and some meaty balls and you'd have a drag car to compete with the best of them...That's a ton of freakin power man!! nice job for sure

I think he can go after a lot of cars with 200-300 more HP. The Z is "light" in comparison to a lot of cars out there. If it's a rolling start, lookout!

the Z is pretty light, you could hang with many of the cars there. And who cares if you can't win, it's the whole experience of it all and plus when you got a 1000whp car, that's the competition you got to go against. Lol.
But anyways, when's the next dyno run? I wanna see the real powa of that monster!
