370z AT With Stillen S/C And The Upgrades

2010 Nissan 370z Sport/Auto Trans

Here we have a Z with some miles on her along with an 7AT, so I decided to go the Stillen route. Installation of the kit was done at Nissan Of Katy. Don the service tech did a fabulous job on the install. His work was very thorough, while he also made sure I too was aware of the step by step work being performed. I was very comfortable knowing the knowledge that stood between my car and the work being done on it. Once the install was complete, I took my Z to a local tuner here in Houston. Car ran decent but left a lot to desire, I wanted more of an OEM feel when driving normal. A few weeks later I took her up to Austin and had UpRev do a new tune. I found Mike and Omar to be very helpful with my needs and concerns. The car now runs great and shifts flawlessly all while putting down 426 WHP. Both Mike and Omar were highly impressed with the numbers produced by an automatic.

All in all I am very happy with my new Z! I say new because it feels like a completely new beast!

Nice addition, glad to see another Houston area owner boosted!
If you have a dyno graph post it up and I will add you to the finished builds threads for boosted cars.

I've been beating on mine stock for over a year without any problems and 14 track days on it and counting.

How many miles does this Z have?

JWillis72 02-09-2015 12:04 PM

Nice build! How are the temps on the car?

jwick 02-09-2015 01:14 PM

That display in the cabin is sweet!

You upgraded the MAFs and went with 850cc injectors. Are you planning a lot more power in the future?

As of right now 78,400 miles! The car with the kit installed has enjoyed 2,000 of those miles.

Coolant Temps are right in line as a stock Z. Oil Temps are down from stock. I Don't drive her to crazy mostly Hwy, but have done some back to back pulls and even then Temps remain in check.

Believe it or not but the UpRev MAF's made a difference with the way my car behaved. Had them installed on the original tune and she ran and idle just fine. Had to come back for a re-tune due to time and was told to go back to the stock MAF's as they were over kill. I was like cool put a little money back into my pockets. Don removed them the night before the re-tune going back to the stock MAF's. After the re-tune the car did not idle so well and would stall after high revs and even times if I stopped fast. Also had a flat spot in the RPM range that was noticeable. At this point I went back to my UpRev MAF's and took her up to Austin for a fresh UpRev Tune. She now runs great and no codes! My guess is the location of the MAF's are probably not the best spot as there is some turbulence going on inside of that Y pipe!

Thanks! The display was the easiest install and yet it gets the most compliments! :rofl2:

That's good to know. I just upgraded to 3" intake tubes because my MAFs are maxed. Hoping that will buy me enough head room to prevent having to go to upgraded MAFs.

Awesome build bud:tup:
