Here are two videos showing what was most important to me, the transmission. I was not worried about how the car would handle the new extra power, but how it would react and deliver on it. Unlike the manual guys, us auto guys pretty much need two tunes. One for the Engine Management and one for the Transmission. I feel like UpRev gave me both, remember I was seeking as close to OEM feel as possible. Video two was a WOT from 60 MPH to 100 MPH in normal drive mode. You can clearly hear the transmission doing it's JOB. Don't mind me fussing towards the end of the video as you can still hear the tranny doing it's job while closing the throttle to 120 MPH plus!

Nice build. What size is the frozen boost intercooler. Other guys had to cut a portion of the bumper support and it looks like you didn't. It fits in nicely.

You're probably aware of this but I wouldn't mash the gas on gears 5 thru 7 too much.

They turned it over, look where the tow hook is.

On the 5th-7th gear thing, I hit 5th twice every lap on Sebring at WOT and while it shifts slower I haven't broke it yet.

The FrozenBoost Intercooler is the larger one used in this application. Like JWillis72 said just flipped the bumper support, the only mod was to trim out the bumper. This Intercooler is a must have for this Kit. It really helps things from getting heat soak so quick!

As for mashing the gas "BOOST" in gears 5Th thru 7Th is part of the reason I went with this Kit. The TQ is nothing like the Turbo Z's and our Tranny's for the most part should hold just fine with a proper "TUNE" as the Factory Specs are around 290TQ. My Z put down 426WHP & 328TQ. I have done pulls to 150MPH plus and she feels firm and steady as the Tranny pops into the next gear, almost feeling like a true manual with a conventional clutch.

Hey Jwillis,

I'm still trying to gauge 5th. What mph are you on 5th?

Trim out the bumper? Please explain in some detail what you mean.

Thanks

Cool! I didn't say we can't boost in those gears just that they get weaker as you go up. Don't know what speed it takes to wind out 7th gear in full boost but your tranny would be the least of your worries at that speed. haha

I'm just paranoid with the 7AT so I got the tune, valvebody upgrade and trans oil temp monitor. By the time i wind out 4th I'm already going too fast for comfort.

The factory torque specs are at the flywheel I believe, so your wheel torque could be 15% to 20% more at the flywheel. Don't quote me.

I want to say the shift to 5th is around 130 mph, I've never gotten to 6th at WOT. What kind of temps do you see in the 7AT on the street vs track?

Default No bumper trim

I appears that is can be installed behind factory bumper without doing any cut outs to the bumper. I like this look better, going to try to get mine to fit.

I bet that's the 2" thick one instead of the 3 1/2".

it is this one, 3.5" thick.
Air to Water Heat Exchanger

instead of modifying the crash bar, I am going to add a aluminum angle support to each side and bolt it to the bottom of the crash bar

Wow I wouldn't have thought it would fit. Does that car have oil and 7AT coolers behind it?
