I used some products from a place called Second Skin Audio... used their Damplifier (similar to Dynamat) to quell panel resonance and put a layer of their luxury liner pro down on the floor of the hatch to block some of the noise. It's a bit quieter but I really need to do more to knock out more of the drone. I'd probably need to do the floors and the area behind the seats with the sound deadening mat. I've gotten used to it for the most part. Highways aren't that bad unless you have to be on the throttle a lot (i.e. any hilly or mountainous areas). The exhaust gave the girlfriend bad headaches before the deadening... it's better now for her but we just make sure to take her car when we go on long trips now. Do I regret the exhaust? I only regret ordering HFCs because the CBE was plenty loud enough for me.

I never installed the HFCs. I put the CBE on first and was like, "no way am I going to throw HFCs on this!"

You can totally DIY and save money. Dynamat is too expensive, anyways, so I'd use what I did... it's just as good and a ton cheaper. But I'd just see if you are ok with the exhaust first... some people's hearing is more sensitive than others.

The vidoe clips have nothing on the true sound of this system. Even with the HFC's and 18" CF resonators it's not overly loud. The down shifts are amazing. I agree with the above post, a little Raamat and some ensolite foam will make this the perfect system. Link to Raamat and ensolite below.
The Goods The sound reduction material is really only needed for the "Lexus" type sensitive ears out there.

I will say that without a doubt, the 18" CBE alone is louder than my 2003 Mustang GT with off-road X-pipe (no cats at all) and Magnaflow cat-back (straight-through mufflers similar to the FI ones) which was pretty surprising.

Well I still am a week or two from recieving mine, so I only know how it sounds from the YouTube videos & how the different forum members describe it. It might sound perfect to me, who knows? As long as there is no rasp, little to no drone, & sounds mean as hell, I'll be more then happy

If you hold the exact right RPM you will get a little drone, haven't noticed any rasp. The hiss is interesting though, I even like it as it's not that loud, just noticeable. There is only one problem with this system, you will want to drive everywhere just to keep hearing it. Man does it sound awesome. It makes you want to find a closed section of twisty road, install a roll cage, throw a helmet on, and go ballz out until something blows.

I described the 18" CBE in another thread as 4v 4.6L (Mustang Cobra) V8 meets Ferrari 355.
