Fender vents - which one...
Want a pair of vented fenders, all the available vented fenders look the same, admittedly Fly1's I like and even Carbon Signals, but with PA roads, I fear the fenders would get torn up in short order with chipping.
I have 2 fenders coming and looking to do one of the following, I like the MRWorks GT version but would like to keep the turn signal light. The other is one I found on Bulletproof's blog, a tad different setup as they put the vent in the skirt. I would still keep it in the fender. Sorry about the size of the pics. Here are pics of both. MRWorks fender vent http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/551...3sfavorite.jpg Unknown from Japan, but digging this design, can make it easily functional and still retain the turn signal indicator. http://www.bespokeventures.com/blog/...7bed447993.jpg http://blog.bespokeventures.com/wp-c...0fb3ee73f5.jpg |
I vote #2
|
I thought there was an option for turn signal on #1 (well, a body shop could make it work if you want), but otherwise I like #2 as well.
|
Any further away pics of #2?

#2, only if you can make it functional to the engine compartment.

My fenders get my vote ;)

What do you think about these?
http://www.auto-style.jp/item_img/DYT20341612A01.jpg Vented fenders and keeps the turn signal functionality. I personally have the Varis front wide fenders, but they're not for everyone I guess. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...81847270_o.jpg https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...70680586_o.jpg https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...43528124_o.jpg Let me know if you have any questions! :tiphat: |

Yes I designed mine and had them made through my partners at DTM Autobody. Expensive but at the cost of like 4 -5 sets of varis fenders!!!

DAYTONA Racing GTS Fenders. - http://customan.jp/products/11 |

Both 1 and 2 look pretty angular to belong on a stock body. The Daytona one fits the stock body better. |
Another one to check out is the INGS+1 fenders.
http://www.ings-net.com/products/n-s...-n/imgs/hd.png http://www.myjapandirect.com/media/c...rnt_fender.jpg The thing to consider, though, is that most fenders are made to compliment the various kits produced by the manufacturers. I personally think most fenders look way better with non-OEM bumpers/body work, but that's just me. It's hard to find vented fenders that are subtle enough to flow into the OEM bumper lines. |
Kind of what I said (but more eloquent). The ings fenders would look good on a pre 2015 Nismo.
|
I knew I seen somewhere where they still used the indicator light... Kinda how #1 is. The car is a Nismo conversion, front fascia and skirts. Kept the stock rear facia but added spats and fujimura diffuser. Also added the VIS CF hood. Lowered on coilovers, M310's, tint. So nothing to the extreme...
What I do like with the INGS vent is they didn't take all the the way to the fender seam. Which I really didn't want to do. |
With that set up, I like ings+1 or #1. #2 is too rounded.
|
The first one is ok, but the rest are a bit much...........keep it stock.
|
Keep it stock I personally don't like vented fenders its a bit much. Fyi your not to old!!

Varis.... I wonder how they would look with an Amuse kit.
|
Do these vented fenders come with a mesh insert of some sort? I love the look of them, especially the second pic,but I could see a lot of debris coming through that opening, chipping away at the paint!
|
Mesh could be easily added.
|
Most, if not all, JDM companies provide some sort of chicken wire that comes with the vented fenders. However, I would highly suggest painting the mesh black, if it already doesn't come black.
|
This is going to destroy the paint! BLAH

Heard you like vents. |
I just got the Ings+1 fenders
They will look great on the car. Z |
Just a lot of vents for my taste, but to each his own! Couldn't resist a little jab :)

Found a picture of the second option that shows the whole car. Not liking how they took the crease out of the fender by putting the vent in the side skirt, think it would be much cleaner if it was left in the fender.
