Re-attach center console lid
By lid, I mean the lid to the compartment between the two seats:
http://i.imgur.com/nHvTssN.jpg So, I literally have no clue how this happened, but I was driving home from work last night, and I set my elbow on the center console (hand on shifter in neutral), and it was entirely detached from the rest. It's popped loose, and I can't figure out how it clips or slides back in. I also can't figure out how I managed to pop it out, unless it happened last time I opened it and I just didn't notice that it was loose or something. Very weird. I've tried pulling on the sides to make room for it to slide into the two circles that it goes on, but I don't want to break anything. Is there an official way to snap the lid back in? Nothing appears to be broken on any of the plastic parts on either side of the lid and everything looks fine on the circles that it fits on. |
R&R procedures should be in the FSM

OP are you talking about the entire center console or just the lid on the console pocket? Maybe you can post a picture?
The console pocket assembly is one piece in the FSM. It is attached to the center console by a few screws from below. There are no details on how to remove or reinstall just the lid. |
Yeah, I looked through most of the TSM. It's the lid on the console pocket. Behind (toward the back of the car) the shift knob. All the "exploded views" and such in the TSM for that area show it already attached, and don't mention it popping out. I'll go outside and take some pictures after this silly work meeting.
All done, here's an album of what the connections look like. As I said, nothing appears to be broken on either of them. The lid is upside-down so you can see the circle-connections. Not finding much through searching online thus far, but I'll keep going at it. http://imgur.com/a/1dhPx |
I am going to take a guess and say that it's broken. I just bumped mine the other week with my elbow and now it doesn't open or stay up on its own, though it is still attached.

Got off the phone with my local mechanic at the dealer. Sent him the pictures. Not broken.
He also has no clue how it popped out. However (fortunately) it can be popped in. Not easily, though. Picture 2 in my album shows the plastic spring parts that actually push it up when you press the button. With the lid at just under 90 degrees, it has slots on both of the circle things that correspond with those spring things. But, the shroud surrounding the actual hole of the cubby needs to come off. Meaning Pulling the whole center console up (including all the way to the shifter), clipping the lid on, closing/latching the lid, and putting the center console back in place. Ugh. |
mine popped off second week I owned the car. took me two days and lots of 4 letter words to figure how to get it back on without breaking it lol

Mine was all broken, you have to pull the whole console out and start taking out a lot of little screws to fix it. Yours doesn't look like any of the parts that were broken on mine are on yours.
