Your running the VSII hood right?

Nope. This is part of the Extreme Dimensions Amuse kit I got last year.

It's called the JP-R hood. You can get it in carbon as well I believe. Heat extraction is incredible and coupled with the Amuse wide front bumper opening and a 19 row oil cooler, I can have a hard time reaching operating temps in the spring and fall!

The vents sitting over the place where twin turbo's would sit are really less functional for me (turbo-less) as the centre vent which bleeds massive amounts of air from right behind the radiator.

Completely agree. So your hood is duraflex then? Was fitment pretty decent?

Not as good as Shine Auto's kit I hear, but check it out in my thread. Anything can be fixed...

I'm having a really hard time getting my oil temp past 140-150 right now with the fall temps. After getting the amuse kit and rs1 vented fenders along with the seibon vsii vented hood. I found the car feels better with oil temps around 180, I get smoother shifts and pick up around there

Yup. Block off plate for the oil cooler is a must, even with the thermostatic adapter.

 Too cold oil causes almost as much wear as too hot oil.

Yep, you've got to get that core covered so you can get temps up.

I think he meant the hood.

I know. His question was two part. Was it Duraflex and did the hood fit properly. The build thread answered both questions.... :tiphat:

After speaking with Ryan at Seibon and my local shop I ordered the GTR-style hood and am very excited to see what it will look like when installed. I was kicking around the idea of just installing the hood vents on the OEM hood, but decided against it since I think integrated vents will look and function better.

If I do not like the looks of it I will go ahead and paint it.

Quick question: I am getting new custom wheels soon and am trying to decided between gloss or satin black paint. Since the body is black and the hood will be glossy CF, which black should I go with?

I am leaning towards gloss black.

Does anyone happen to have Aerocatch hood pins installed on their CF hood and have pictures to share? Every post that supposedly has a picture has a broken link to it. Specifically I am looking for the placement of it.
