The door jamb actuator switch.

I'm talking about the switch that raises and lowers the window when opening and closing the door.

Has anyone actually removed this? I know it's held in place by one philips screw however unsure about a plate being held on the other side that might drop into the body as some other cars are like that.

I think you'll be okay. The guy that tinted my windows unscrewed that switch so the window would stay up while installing the film. But then again, I didn't look too close, so I'm not 100% positive. Check it before you unscrew it all the way.

Unloosen it a bit, if the screw moves in and out of the whole, there's a nut on it.

Same thing happened when i got my windows tinted. When he put the screw back on, the window kept moving up and down til it was screwed all the way down :icon17:

Yes, yes of course. I admit being a tad lazy about this, however my excuse if there is any is that the FSM links dont allow me to know what part of the car I am looking for, the URL to the PDF files that is online. I go through one at the time until I see what I need.

Funny, as before posting my original post about this this. I turned it counter clockwise a turn and it lost ground and the glass was jumping up and down. Then all of a sudden I had flashbacks of another car that the bolt and backing plate fell into the shell of the car! I duly stopped .:inoutroflpuke:

Most PDF readers will allow you to search multiple documents at the same time. Put all the files in a folder and tell the reader to search all docs in that folder.

Open the TOC doc and click on the section titles to open that section. Works with Adobe Reader, should work with most other PDF readers.

I went through and renamed the files to include the section abbrev and title. Eg, K01 DLK Door and Lock, K03 GW Glass and Window System. Makes finding the right section in a folder window a lot easier.
Edit: Actually what I did was make a new folder, put aliases of the files in there, and renamed the aliases. The links are hard-coded and will fail if files are renamed.
