Some people do take off the spring, but the problem now is that the pedal has a decent amount of side-to-side play in it, the engagement windows is even more narrow, and I worry that since the pedal has lateral movement in it, the rod/piston will unevenly wear in the master cylinder.
Going by the dealer, if they won't fix it then RJM. People with RJM, any lateral freeplay in the pedal?
