Default So...Pedals Fly Apart While Driving Apparently

Way to use some cheap *** metal Nissan.

Helper spring perch sheared off while I was in traffic. Clutch got harder to use, and now wobbles side to side, and I got a metal parts rolling around behind the brake pedal. This sure inspires confidence in me to trust the other two pedals. Car has 45k mi on it. Metal parts shouldn't be cracking in half.

Since this site uses filters. **** **** **** **** YOU NISSAN.

Let the battle begin tomorrow with the stealership. I'll probably just end up welding the parts back together and boxing it in. I don't trust a damn thing a dealership would do after past experiences.

Yeah. Over the years I've come to accept some crappy build quality out of my Nissans - but this just seems unsafe.

Its common with Mazda RX-8's too. Bracket will crack after abuse... Unfortunately manufacturers cheap out on certain parts to save a buck.

Daily Driving and a few track events isn't much abuse. I'm not drifting or dumping/jabbing the clutch. Mazda extended the warranty to cover this specific defect.

Spending any amount of time on 485 could qualify as abuse...haha

May upgrade to RJM pedal. I'll read reviews on it. I love that the stock pedal was nice and heavy, it just sucked that it had no feel. And that it exploded.

RJM has the same heavy feeling but with a smoother engagement window as opposed to the almost on/off switch feel with the stock pedal setup. You do not lose anything by going to the RJM pedal.

As an aside, I'm sure you can find someone on this forum with their stock clutch pedal assembly collecting dust in a box.
