Authenticity of these Bride seats

9 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys,

Need some help here please!

Not sure if anyone has any experience or knows exactly how to tell if Bride seats are real or not? Maybe a vendor could chime in?

I've searched everywhere online and can't seem to find a definitive answer. Asked around locally too, most think it's real but there are some who think it's a replica also. Here are some facts;

MODEL: Bride Brix 2 leather/mesh

Why it could be real...
- Stitching is perfect, no weaves etc whatsoever
- Don't think fakes come in this finish
- Bride logo embroidery is perfectly stitched and centered
- Bolsters and finish is smooth and tight
- Tags and stickers look clean and legit
- Overall finish is perfect and balanced

Why it could be a replica...
- Didn't know Bride logo on headrest came curved. From my understanding they are all 100% straight. But some other Brix 2 online that claim to be real look exactly the same
- Tags and stickers still could be fake
- One of the seats has a xax2 sticker and also this model could be Brix2 or Ergo2??? It's an older model and couldn't find too much info on it.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

I am not 100% sure but if I had to guess I would say these are fake...

What makes you think that though?

The bride logos just look off to me. I can check my seats when I get home and send you some pictures of the markings to see if they are at least in all the right places and what not? I have a set of Stradia IIs

Thx dude!

Can't really compare it to stradias though cause it's a much newer model and differently designed. I compared to my friends digo TypeR which is 100% legit and couldn't tell. Only thing I could see was that the logo is straight.

Also you can get in contact with Bride USA and they may be able to help you authenticate your seats.

Bulletproof beat me.

Magnet to the frame is the easiest way to authenticate the seats

You're welcome hope it all works out.

Those curved logos make it look fake to me. The most important question that you didn't address is who the seller is? Did he buy them new or used? If they can be traced back to an authorized Bride dealer.. Groovy. If not, I'd pass. Too many reeeally good fakes out there.

Don't trust anyone selling stuff that has Star Wars toys in the boxes and is over the age of 30.

Even if they turn out to be unauthentic, they still look like pretty good seats.

Yeah, but it's a safety issue. We know that the legit ones are made out of quality material. Who knows on the fakes.

Can you elaborate further on the potential safety issues?

If what you think is steel on the bases turns out to be cheap Chinese pot metal, who knows what happens in an accident? Does the seat still stay attached to the vehicle? Is the back actually crappy fiberglass and cracks in half in an impact? Just a few of the many possible outcomes. If you have to have aftermarket seats, make sure they are certified (FIA?).

Ya thats true. I emailed Bride Usa email that bulletproof gave me and based on pics, they said it should be 99% real. Guess that's good enough for me lol

Keep in mind that manufacturers spends thousands of hours and money doing all the research to ensure that the seats meet or exceed government regulations or FIA certification. Manufacturers have to donate and pay seats to these organizations like IIHS, NHTSA, FIA for example so that they are tested by a 3rd party for their integrity. Most Chinese replica manufacturers do not adhere to these standards so you are compromising your safety in which in this case the seat basically cam apart as he was driving. If it weren't for his harness it could have been a lot worse. There are many manufacturers out there so if you can't afford Recaro or Bride then look at other brands like Corbeau, Sparco, Kirkey and what not. Also be careful with used seats. If they have been involved in an accident the integrity may be compromised. There's a reason why they say to replace child seats after an accident and you wouldn't risk your own child's life so why risk your own.

The other major safety issue with aftermarket seats, even the good ones, is the loss of the side airbags. The car's design is accounting for that being there, and now you've taken them out. Airbags work as a system. I will not DD aftermarket seats. Show car or track slut with harnesses and roll cage, sure. For a DD the safest thing is stock seats and stock belts.

The logo on top looks like it should be smaller, not as wide.
