Outside of the additional dremel work, did you need to use anything else or just the supplied 3M tape? Thx.

I actually only placed one 1/4 tape on the top inside of the fangs. The cover was such a tight fit I could not put much tape on. I don't think this thing would come off even if tape wasn't used.

Exactly! I took the parts to a shop just yesterday (I was getting an alignment & oil change) and they said there was no way the parts would fit. So I will need to definately do some type of adjustment to the CF part before putting it on......also like you said, once it's on, it's on! I'm betting it's almost a one time shot.....you screw it up and there isn't much give, right?

Yeh, it's a very tigh fit and does scrate the paintwork underneath but I'll deal with that later down the line if I ever choose to remove it. Its best to put the tape on the car (and only on area facing directly forward so they're the last bit to touch the cover once its completely in place if that makes sense) and then put the fang over instead of the other way around. I only need to dremel the underneath edge, everything else was a perfect fit.

Tony, have you attempted to take a dremel to it yet?

No, not yet. I'm calling AAM this morning to see if they can do it. I know they have a fabrication section in the back of the shop so maybe they can do it. If not, I did find a shop I'm going to try for some of my other upgrades:

LEEHIGH AUTOBODY & SERVICE CENTER

Looks like they specialize in lowered cars and racing.....gonna give them a call today, too.

I'd have you come over but there's no way in hell your car would even make it into my driveway! I scrape badly at stock ride height!!!

Seems like a carbide cutting blade, a dremel, a shop vac, and safety glasses & mask should do the trick!

BTW -- Lehigh Auto Body is right by Function Tuned out in Dulles. I think they're the first building when you turn left onto Pebble Run road.

OH! Ok...that was the place that Corvette was getting his inspection done at when we were down there.

EVO-R,
I thought that you indicated in an earlier post that the factory was trimming the bottom edge so that the CF cover piece would fit without having to remove the front spoiler ...or without having to trim the CF piece? I just ordered this piece from you yesterday.
I ordered it anticipating that I would not have to remove/cut/drill anything.
I hope that this is the case.

I can assure you that when I had mine installed, the body shop did not make any adjustments on any of the EVO-R front pieces.

That is really great news. I hope that it installs easy for me, since I am doing it myself. The EVO-R piece is great timing for me. Not only will it look great, but it will cover up the small indentions and the two scrape marks on the bottom of my front bumper from dragging on a speed bump. Repairs at the body shop would have been $420, and a new part, with painting and install, at $470. The EVO piece we cost me less...and look even better!
