EVO-R Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser

Do any of you guys know if the EVO-R Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser on The Z Store (Motorsport! EVO-R Rear Diffuser, Carbon Fiber, 09-14 370Z - The Z Store! Nissan-Datsun 240Z-260Z-280Z-280ZX-300ZX(Z31/Z32)-350Z-370Z Parts) is the most up to date version of it as there were fitting issues with the first version? Just wondering because the EVO-R website itself has had it as "Out of Stock" since forever.

SOUTHZZ 09-28-2014 01:30 PM

Based on my experience with EVO-R(over several years),my guess is SOP for them.
Summary:all stuff made in Taiwan, the plant that makes their parts is large, makes CF
parts for many companies.EVO-R gets a production time slated for a particular item.
They do a run of maybe 10-20 pieces.Payment must be made for those so,they have to move quickly.Cannot afford to be sitting on inventory that is not moving. When they run out.it could take up to several months before a slot can be given to run another batch.

Thats pretty much it.Jay(EVO-R)has been operating like this forever.
If its in stock, you are OK.Out of stock, trouble.Whatever you are told (if you can ever contact him),double the time he tells you.
Its really hard when you want a item only they sell.I stopped doing business with Evo-R
quite awhile ago.I did get a few items they handled for my old 350(Mines lip).
Don't need the aggravation.I deal with Shine for large molded CF items.ZCF for everything else(Bpillars, interior parts). They are both in the U.S..They communicate
and always have the product since they make to order-promptly.

If you look around, you can find the fujimura diffuser jay ripped off for less than his knockoff and it will fit better. Plus you'll actually get a product. Do business with jay at your own risk. If you have to have Evo r buy from the z store. Jay has mastered the art of stringing you along just long enough to be out of the window of time paypal gives for a refund.

Is there a way visually to know if you are getting a geniune Fujimara diffuser? Or does one have to wait until fitment to find out?

ufoz8mycow 09-28-2014 02:30 PM

Where can you get a Fujimura rear diffuser for less than the $350 an EvoR CF version goes for? I thought those were in the $600-700 range.

Someone posted a link a couple of days ago to a vendor selling them for about that. Rhdjapan maybe? I was shocked. If that's what the original ones sell for now, there's no reason to buy the replicas.

J's370Z 09-28-2014 02:54 PM

subbed for good info i wanted to get the evo r lip kit/..

Zoren 370 09-28-2014 03:15 PM

Just wait for a forum member sell there Evo-R diffuser i just saw 2 members selling there's looks nice and reasonable price.

Check the for sale section
Save you the headache of dealing with Jay of Evo-r and wait time forever.

Chuck33079 09-28-2014 03:18 PM

Right now jay is currently way, way behind on NuGen auto's group buy for these too. At one point he was banned here for taking money, shipping products late or never and being completely unreachable. Do not support vendors who do business this poorly.

Zoren 370 09-28-2014 03:24 PM

Seriously! I agree 100%
I hate to say this but members who payed for that group buy. Your lucky if you get it from Evor 6 months!!!

My money could have earned more if invested on something else. Just saying.
Nothing against Nugen they are just middle men doing business. But again like Chuck said never affiliate your company with scammers otherwise you will be accused of the same sin! Burn your own company in the process.

Been in business all my life. Learned the tricks of the trade the hard way!

Chuck33079 09-28-2014 03:27 PM

It's a shame. If jay were reliable I would buy a lot of his products right now. But I've been burned twice by him. Luckily I ordered from the Z Store so I could get refunded. His parts are usually good if you ever get them.

Zoren 370 09-28-2014 03:36 PM

Yup take the case of GTM great products but hell of a customer service.

Its like ok consumers send me all your full payment while I build my 10M house once its completed I'll send you the products if I still have money left. Or wait until I get other members to fool so I can get to fund your orders.

This business who take your money up front without the product is no different to a Ponci scheme band in the US!

Just saying.

I think Evo-r learned this business model from GTM. Truly un-American

EVOR 09-28-2014 10:41 PM

Guys, I totally understand your frustration. This is why now I update my site twice a week. If you see item not in stock please don't buy if you cannot wait. Just like what southZZ says we get them made 20-30 sets at a time. Once sold out I order them again and have to wait online from production line. All depends on how busy our factory gets. Anyone order something and cannot wait anymore, just PM me. I'll refund you right away. There is really no point to hold your money since once case is open with Paypal, paypal holds the fund anyway. So before you order please check if they are in stock. If you are willing to wait, I'll try to get you est delivery time.

TygaHoods2412 09-29-2014 03:13 PM

So how long is the current turn around time? When I called 2 months ago they said the earliest may be mid/end of October. Any truth to this or are we better off with the real Fujimura product?

Hey there,
I can only tell you that I got the diffuser from the Z Store, had it installed and have had no issues. However, I did have the best Z body shop in my area handle the install. It's on the One! Good luck!:driving:

EVOR 09-30-2014 09:42 PM

Exactly, if install it correctly you have no problem.

lgarcia 10-04-2014 09:52 PM

So what's the wait time for the NuGen group buy?

I would be surprised if your question be answered accurately.

I can confirm there are still fitment issues with EVO R, but I managed to make it work

cooltoy 12-23-2023 07:39 PM

No reason anything should change even after nine years.

markesc 01-31-2024 04:43 PM

How much 3m tape did you use? Locations? I'm tempted to get one of these - but I'm worried it's going to end up on the road/lost!

Did you have to remove the 3rd brake light to install?

Also thinking one could simply drill holes on the bottom and use black hardware for a low profile look

For the tape, you can determine where to place it based on the contours. It also comes with 6 self tapping screws and silicone glue. I didn’t use any glue. For the screws, place one screw into the bumper plastic above each exhaust tip. You need to move the exhaust out of the way to accomplish that :-) Then 2 screws at the end and underside of the bumper. It also comes with a bolt which replaces the clip in the rear fog light. There’s a YouTube video that helps. Here’s the link

It’s actually pretty easy. Just take your time and be careful pre-drilling the holes. Connect the diffuser at the center fog light with the bolt. That centers and secures it enough to then flex it into place for the screws at each end and above the exhaust tips. As you can see in my pic I shared above, you really can’t notice the screws unless one looks closely.

Appreciate it!! Now the whole debate of this vs. V2 Nismo front/rear bumper combo... :stirthepot:

That’s a much bigger project than a simple diffuser! And a lot more expensive ;)

I got this front splitter from Artwork Bodyshop
