Carbon Paddle Shifters!
1 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys!
I'm sure many of you 7AT owners, just as myself, have wanted carbon paddles but did not want to spend $600+ on aftermarket GTR ones. Last month, I approached a body shop near me and asked if they could wrap my existing paddles with real carbon and clear coat over it, giving it that bagged/oem appearance instead of an overlaid 3m wrap. Well, besides a couple fish eyes still in the clear coat due to my impatience of waiting longer for them to be properly sanded over and buffed, they came out awesome! :tup:s |
Oh my freaking God I'm doing this!
|
Very nice!! You done Good!!!!!!

Thanks guys! Super easy process and low cost.

Being friends with the owner, he did not charge me. But I do not think it should cost more than $100. Labor is quite simple and only involves stripping down the leather/plastic, laying the carbon, applying a couple coats of epoxy, and one or two coats of clear coat to protect it from the sun. Most of it can be done by yourself.

Nice work. Any plans of following up with other pcs to round it out? Unless its just the picture quality, it also looks like they had trouble with the tabs when taking the paddles off.

Did they have to remove em I'm guessing?!? Where r u located?

And I can't wait to see how my paddles come out. (Custom made ones, like the aftermarket GTR ones) |

Looks fantastic, however personally I grew out of carbon fibre in the late 90s.
