New hood coming soon
Well you all know that from the start of summer we have been speaking of a new style hood and this is something that we have been working on off and on when ever we have some spare time and yesterday we finished shaping. It took many hrs to fine tune all the lines so that each side are both nice and even so here is the prototype so far.
What we still have to do is reshape the edges and figure out how we are going to take care of the vents. Our ideas so far are to have glass fill in those 6 vents to flush everything out nicely and have the glass perforated for ventilation. I haven’t seen that done before so I think it would be unique and neat. It should give it a nice exotic look. I'm not sure when we will be done since its a side project but due to waiting for more materials to arrive on Tuesday we will have all Monday to work on the hood plus another project for the Z we are currently working on. I'll take much better pictures once we have it primed. We dont have pictures of it on a Z but if anybody is willing to stop by then I'd be glad to mock it up. We hope you guys like the hood as we will be sticking to this concept design and if there’s enough interest we will then start reproducing. Stay tuned for updates Last edited by SpawnAeroJohn; 09-26-2009 at 11:09 PM. |

Does this hood keep the stock lines and just add vents per say to the edges?
From one picture I feel like I see two lines running along the hood like the stock hood.

We made it specifically to follow the lines. Each vent going up gets a tad wider and wider just to follow with the edges of the hood, and the body lines in the center. Othe rhoods you see have the vent lines going in different directions. Not this one! I'll see if I have a picture of it indoors.
