So here I was all anxious for the painting and I totally forgot they would have to fit the rear bumper to the newly flared fenders. Anyways I went in tonight and took a look. They cut the sides of the rear bumper and extended the width of the do-luck rear right at 3 inches on each side. Needless to say I was pretty siked to see the a$$ of my car is gonna be 6" wider.
They are essentially connecting the cut piece and the bumper with layers of fiber glass, currently with screws just to hold it in place as well as a piece of, what seemed to be 6x12 piece of wax as well to hold it in place. Anyways here are a few pics of it, I did my best to capture how wide it will be but there was a supra in my way, damn it!. I have to give credit where credit is due...this is no longer a do luck bumper, these guys are putting so much work into it its a custom bumper in my eyes. |

UPDATE! Whole car is primed and ready for painting WOOT!..They are doing paint tomorrow. IF they stay on track it will be wet sanded and polished thursday, taken to the shop on friday for the toe rod install and alignment as well as the gold TA stripe on the rims....OH MAN!...almost there.
edit: forgot to mention, like some of you know Im sticking with the PPW paint. The guys at the shop went through some paint cards and found the paint code that takes the most of the yellow tint out of the pearl as possible. This Iam happy about, still get the pearl look but closer to a white white |

what's with the valence, you can see the mufflers too clearly, unless you get angled mufflers instead of those stacked would look super cool !!
the project looks good so far |

the two little things sticking down in the center of the rear bumper, there will be a piece that fits right into that so you wont really see the but the tips. Just google 350z do luck kit, youll see what I mean.

Caught the shop in the middle of the day and took some pics. They finished painting all the black parts, they still need to wet sand and polish them though. As for the car, well you can look at the pics. They sounded pretty confident saying the car will be completely painted, wet sanded, and polished by tomorrow evening. More pics to come tomorrow...unless the car is together then I will wait and do some decent photos most likely.
