Side Blades? and rock protection?

Hey Guys - just received my Aerojacket blades in CF - and gonna install them this weekend.

But do you guys get them 3m'd first? to protect them from rock chips?

I'm sure it will be argued, but on the bottom of my nismo skirts I did the bed liner spray that duplicolor offers. Not the Armour guard the stuff I used has less texture, my car is also magnetic black so less noticable. Just a another option. Here is a picture of it.
