I have an update on this situation. I found the fuse was blown. I tried replacing the fuse and every time it popped. There is obviously a short somewhere.

I scheduled an appt. at the stealership next Wednesday 8/6/14. I purchased an extended warranty and this is covered. I asked my service adviser for the Sr. Master Technician to address this issue which they obliged. Hope it doesn't turn into a bigger issue.............Electrical issues as we know can be tricky.

Update coming after appointment.

Any updates on this? I just washed my car, went to have dinner and the horn started going off. Same thing, pressed fob buttons... nothing, started the car... nothing. Had to undo the battery.

Unlike the OP i have alot of aftermarket mods, including a slight wire tuck and aftermarket steering wheel where i decided not to hook up the horn button. Debating if i should just unplug the horn all together and say f*** it, but dont want this to blow up in my face.

The wire tuck and steering wheel were done months ago.

Oh, as an FYI the stealership had to replace my IPDRM (is that right?!) last year.

welp, I never heard anything and became impatient. I pulled my front bumper and it looked like there was some corrosion around the electrical connection to the horn. Since I cant use my horn I just decided to remove it all together... weight savings. No issues since Saturday.

Wiggins, sorry for belated reply. Just sent you a PM as well.

Sorry for late reply. It has been rectified. The issue was a short with the horn relay connection. There was corrosion. I had to pull the fuse in order to get it to stop. Took it into the dealer and they installed a new horn and reinforced the connection. Put a new fuse in as well. So far it has yet to repeat itself.

As FYI, all this was covered under warranty. My Z was a Certified Used Nissan purchase from the dealership.

Good Luck.
