Nite Ize Steelie phone car mount

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with Nite Ize products? I found this really cool subtle magnet car mount for my phone. Issue is, there aren't many choices where to put this car mount. The only place that seems like a perfect area to place the mount is the "passenger air bag" light? I test fitted the mount and it looks perfect!

My concern, I won't be able to see if my passenger air bag is on. I know you really only get issues with this if you have a child in the front seat and the sensor doesn't recognize a person in the seat.

I've seen other phone mounts for the Z and in my opinion are either too bulky or in the way of your vision of the road. I really wanted something subtle and functional. Attached is a photo of the product and me test placement of the product... let me know what you think?

This is really cool. In for pics if you end up doing it. Location seems plausible, you really dont need that light tbh.

yeah was looking in to them awhile back. I just didn't like it, right where the pillar was. and the by side it seemed kinda odd and in the way of my controls for the radio.

I used it, it sucked. I have a Note2 the ball and magnet could not hold my phone. The adhesive on both parts are awesome. I do not know if it was the weight of my phone but I would hit a bump and my phone would be either in the passenger seat or floor area. I mounted mine where the S mode is on the manual Zs, I have an automatic.

Hmmm... I just installed mine. I drove my z around no issues yet. Gonna test it put fully tomorrow.

yah leave it out in the hot sun and let us know how it goes.

most mounts have issues when exposed to extreme temps.

crappy product, not sure how many hotel cards and 1 credit card I destroyed. Also, on my wife's car, the ball started to rust after a while. Ball should be magnetic, and the phone receiver steel, not the other way around. Got rid of it and bought a charged holder for the A pillar.
