the hook is needed when you're breaking the speed of sound barrier. the hook goes first so that the sonic boom doesn't strip away the paint from your z. that's the real reason it's there.

Bought it off from 370Ztune/Bulletproof Automotive. Expect to pay premiums as mine is a MCR moon face tow hook.
