Seatbelt Squeaking

So, I noticed the other day, my seatbelt is squeaking every time I go over a bump, or move in the seat... It appears to be coming from the upper belt mount. It is amazingly annoying. Anyone have this issue? Or know how to fix it? Or should I bring it in to the dealer and have them warranty it?

Honestly if u still have warranty take it to the dealer and let their *** go through the headache of fixing it. Might be just a loose screw in there..

Time for harness and possibly to not drive on the abominations which Michigan calls roads. :icon17:

I'm so glad I'm not from Michigan. No offense :icon18: lol

My driver side one makes a very faint scratchy noise, similar to fabric rubbing against cloth.

I can emulate the sound by just pulling on it slightly, annoying but no biggie.

I have EXACTLY the same issue with my driver side belt. I told my dealer when it was in for a service, they said they 'couldn't emulate the problem'. As soon as I got back in the car & drove off - there it was plain as day!
Yep, annoying but it goes away when I crank up Steel Panther!

Had the same issue with my g35 and first year I had the z. They replaced the brackets on both cars under warranty but few months later the noise was back. Not worth takin it back it is the material
..I just turn the music up!

Update, I finally fixed it about a month ago still going strong. I used some CLP gun lube and its now quiet.

I didn't know that this thread was here, but I'm glad you posted an update! I have the same problem. Of course, I can't hear it over my exhaust, but still. Definitely worth knowing how to fix it.

the way the seat belt bolts to the seat frame, its against a metal washer, so it can still move up/down while still being bolted securely to the frame. you can remove the seat, unbolt the seat belt and grease that washer and the squeaking should go away. at least, thats what i did during my seat install

Mine was like a fabric rubbing against each other coming from the plastic anchor area. Of course I could not hear it with even the radio on, but it was irritating as it sounded as if something like a bug was near my left ear all the time LOL.
