Solution for aluminum touring pedals for base model 370z.

Note: I posted this in another thread but thought this information would be more accessible here.

I contact Courtesy Nissan about the aluminum pedals and received the following information.

You can get the pedal pads for the clutch pedal and the brake pedal, in fact
they use the same pad. The footrest is the same on both models. However, the accelerator pedal has to be replaced as a whole.

-------Q157431-------
PAD PEDAL $77.60
PAD PEDAL $77.60
ACCEL-LEVER $130.17
---------------------
Ground shipping $9.85
Total $295.22

After replacing the accelerator pedal you must complete a "Accelerator Pedal
Released Position Learning" procedure.

----------------------------------------
Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning is a function of ECM to learn the
fully released position of the accelerator pedal by monitoring the accelerator
pedal position sensor output signal. It must be performed each time the
harness connector of the accelerator pedal position sensor or ECM is
disconnected.

ACCELERATOR PEDAL RELEASED POSITION LEARNING :

1.START
1. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
2. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
3. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Turn ignition switch ON and wait at least 2 seconds.
5. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait at least 10 seconds.

Good find.

Too bad they are so unattractive to begin with (and expensive to boot).
Look like something out of a mid 60's Oldsmobile..

Ultimate pedals (real, solid aluminum, Doh) has a set available now..and it looks like SRP (see post 9 below) has some nice stuff also.

You'll have to call them apparently as the 370 size is not up on the site..

ULTIMATE PEDALS

Ah, that is why I was asking for a link. I have checked and never saw anything on their site about the 370z. Good to know we can call, thanks.

It's good to know we can call them up but I'd still rather be able to see some pictures as well as options on the website before I make an informed purchase.

For now I'm leaning towards purchasing the replacement covers from courtesyparts.com

??..Did you even go to the site?? Look at the G35....How different could it be? All the info is there..

Pedals are not rocket science. There's some really nice stuff out there for less $$ than the Nissan "trimmed" ones.

dcrew1x 09-12-2009 09:51 PM

I did go to the site. So far they're all a variation of drilled holes with the option for domed inserts.

I'm just more a fan of the touring model pedals. I agree though, they are overpriced.

A little searching turned up this outfit (Link below). I'm thinking something like these for $155 with grid pattern and dead pedal options...
I can make em fit, in fact I want to change the dead pedal angle anyway.! (the Porsche models will accommodate our large, flat gas pedals)
These look like a simple bolt-on.

Cheaper and nicer looking than the Ultimate pedals.

Hey thanks!....Yeah, I think I'm going to order these...Just need my buddy to measure his 911 gas pedal, though ours looks huge and flat just like this one. Any minor difference in the pedal curvatures I can deal with.

On cleaning? Just a stiff bristled brush I'd guess, but it's rare for me to get into the car with dirty shoes..

I'll do a DIY when I get these in..

considering everything else on my car is stock (well, other than the HU) i think i want to get the factory one even if it costs too much. :D

Your money, your car....

Personally, when I do a mod I like to look at it as an upgrade, aesthetically and functionally, not the status quo.. I feel my aluminum trimmed dead pedal is one of the cheesiest parts on the interior. More of the same has no interest to me.

Everybody's different here..
