windshield washer hose clips

can anyone please offer the best way to remove the little plastic tabs that hold the windshield washer hose to the hood without breaking the little suckers....

can anyone please offer the best way to remove the little plastic tabs that hold the windshield washer hose to the hood without breaking the little suckers....

I switched hoods once and just decided to get new ones because I didn't want to break then off and replace them again.

You can slide the washer fluid hose out of the hose clips albeit it will take some force.

On items like that, I just plan to break about half of them and buy some before I start the job. They should be relatively inexpensive at your Nissan dealer or an online store like CourteyParts.com. You may be able to find something that will work at a local auto parts store or body shop (I buy plastic "pop rivets" from a local body shop).

hmmmmm, maybe I'll just cut the hose & put a union in. I'm getting the hood repainted from rock chips...who'd a thunk the tuffest part of removing the hood would be the washer hose!!

There should be a procedure in the FSM. Might even have some tips on how to lessen the chance of breaking a clip.
