It is the rear strut bar.

Here is one option:

I guess my only qualm calling it a strut bar is the fact that it doesnt connect the struts... lol.

Correct -- it does not.

I suppose "rear chassis brace" is probably accurate.

Actually, does anyone know if there are there any actual rear strut braces that don't require dropping the struts to fit?

Yeah but when you start calling it a chassis brace, you start getting the undercar braces and whatnot

True...

Rear behind seatbelt brace?

I'm sure it reduces flex to the rear chassis overall, but there are undoubtedly other regions that flex which are not braced...

Good question.

I don't think so -- or more to the point, I don't think anyone who has removed it hasn't replaced it with other braces (e.g., a roll cage).

Nope, can't be used as a seat belt brace either. It would break as soon as you put that type of force on it. it should be called a faux rear tie brace... lol

Turn up the music.. JK, quick answer would be to place weight somehow on different parts and see what stops. I hate buzzes and rattles!

I've driven it for a week without it. However, I didn't attempt any spirited driving or the sort, the only thing I noticed that the car became wobbly on normal driving. After that I had a Robispec harness bar installed, the wobble disappeared obviously, all alignments were still in spec, no clue if anything major got affected when I drove the car without it.
