Water Transfering
Has anyone got their rims water transferred before? If so I would LOVE to see some pictures of how they came out.
I am thinking about getting them done but I'm also worried they will chip? Has anyone had any issues with this? |

Clear coat paint after
|
what in the fuk is going on here?
|
best you dont know, falcon... lol

Sounds like a bad idea to me. All the water xfer stuff I've seen (camo for guns and bows) wasn't all that durable. But there may be something out there that would hold up. If you do it, I think synolimit's clear coat suggestion would be worth considering.

if it can withstand the heat, then clearcoat would protect the transfer's finish.
but before going there, wtf... |
Why is there all this wtfing goin on?
|
I would go paint or powdercoat route with rims.

It's definitely possible:
I still have my doubts about durability. Looks like more of a show car thing. |
Its definitely do-able, but the result must be clear coated. However, if the car is a daily driver, you are going to have stone chips like crazy after the first month.

Simple: your wheel finishes are powder coated on (unless they are bare polished metal) and that is very, very durable. Clear coat is not at all as durable as powder coat. Painted wheels are nice looking but usually "for show only".

That is true, but compare their finish to a powder coated finish after time and you will see the difference.
|
O for sure. PC is the best but there are other options.

The issue with paint is that it's less durable when mounting and unmounting tires. But paid is more resistant to UV fading from what I've seen |
