No. You need to splice into the taillight harness. That plug is for cars that have the fog light standard. If you want to use it, you need to add a switch or the JDM turn signal stalk with the switch on it. Either way you have to buy the fog light.

Thanks. I just went under there and took another a look. There seems to be a harness that comes from under the white styrofoam and terminates almost right next to the fog light area.

You are correct, it is not a fog light LOL

So I basically need to buy something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/161276840341?lpid=82 and also the switch.

Just make it easy on yourself- go to Z1 and get the light and the harness that taps into the tail lights and you'll be running the fog as another brake light. Unless you want a rear fog light you have to manually switch on.
Trips and DEpointfive0 like this.

i think somone just drilled out where the circule is (the location where the bulb holder goes in on the fog lamp version housing) and used a standard 192 or some socket and made their reflector one into a fog lamp.

unfortunately my car is a 09 and it came with the darkened butt plug. i had to buy a new fog lamp assembly for mine. AND my car did not have the prewired harness. i made my own.

Thats an interesting thought, but I will get the fog light assembly and harness plus switch and do the fog light conversion. Comes handy here when the summer storms around or when actually foggy.

The other thing I have is a 3rd brake blinker, it blinks a few times then stays solid. Shall I fit this to the third stop light where the spoiler is, or do you think its pretty lame.?

I removed it from one of my previous cars prior to trading it.

I was considering putting one of those on my fog light since I'm using it as a brake light. It may be a pain to put it on the third brake light since pulling off all of the hatch plastics is kind of annoying.

dont do the blinker tail lamp/fog light. it is f-king annoying.

i see that on bikes some times... they must think it's making them more visible, but in reality, it's annoying so people behind them dont look at the lamps as much.

Do you still have the black fog light? I wanted to switch from my red one.

Most of the black ones do not survive removal. Nissan uses a lot of loctite on the bolts.

Do you know where I could get my hands on one? Looked on ebay but there only seems to be the red ones.

Don't need it to actually function as a fog light, just wanted the black look instead of the red. I think it flows better with the 40th ann paint.

Any Nissan dealer, either online or near you? Just ask for the one for the year prior to when they changed to red.
