got my tint and clear bra installed today
Thanks to this forum I realized to get side skirts and also part of the rear wheel arch clear shielded today.Had the front bumper, first half of front fender portion of the hood A pillars and part of the front of the roof done. As well as a tint, limo black rear as the rear window is unusable LOL and also door windows lighter however.

Did it make it through the ordeal without any damage?

Any pictures? I'm curious as to how noticeable the clear bra is.

I will update with pics once car gets washed. I am glad the tint and clear bra place didn't attempt to wipe down spray residue off. So far currently has a lot of water specs due to application process.

Call me anal. But i think I'll also be fitting some front mud flaps. Car already has factory color coded flaps. But I want to install the rally type for better protections.

Also, I paid $650 inc tax for tint and clear film application so I'm happy ive usee them for 4 cars now hence better rates. More so knowing the paint will he okay by the time I trade up in around 3 years time. Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |
That's a great deal, but it looks really REALLY noticeable. Not sure if I could live with those outlines everywhere!

I sometimes wonder. Do I do all my caring to appease myself or the fortunate next owner. Lol Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |

the pre-cut ones are okay to leave near the border cause they weren't intended to be wrapped around the panel. but again, if that's your preference that's fine. im just saying the benefit of using rolls is to allow the installer to hide the lines better than the precut ones. not trying to start an argument. |

I got mine done and the installer lined up the hood line/cut with the fender line/cut so it goes straight across all the way. Ima go look at it
Yeah, your fender protection goes a lot higher than mine, looks like you got the bikini style cut on your hood and the granny panty cut on your fenders. |

Had quite a collection of spring bugs on the nose of my white 2014, plus this being a late spring in Minnesota, there is a little more in the way of sand and gravel in the corners and intersections.
This afternoon I took advantage of bright sunshine and warmer temps to work on the finish. I was pleased and a little amazed to see that all the little black bugs and their guts literally just wiped right off of the clear bra (3M Scotchguard). I tried using Novus plastic cleaner, Plexis plastic cleaner, and Adam's Waterless Wash. Of the three, the Adam's Waterless Wash with their specific WW waffle towel did the best job. The bug guts and staining were the bane of my existence in pre-clear bra days. Now...nothing. Very, very pleased. I did note that the coverage with the stuff was pretty accurate relative to where the bugs accumulate. I didn't really have any bug strikes outside of the clear bra area. Also looked hard for rock strikes....didn't see any evidence of that. |
