This is my first Nissan vehicle and I bought her at 1500 miles which to me is a big a no no as why would anyone trade a car in this early. Well the paint looks all original however the driver side rear light and trunk area fit and finish is not symeterical.

Driver side tail gate hatch is slightly higher than the drivers side rear light in the high lighted picture. the passanger side is flush. Would appreciate other owners to compare theres, thanks and give me feed back.

Just do me a favor and compare left housing to right and measure gap width and height difference to the adjoining panels, thanks.

Your car is fine. Nissans are not exactly 100% symmetrical all the time. I sell them for a living. As for the 1500 miles, maybe the car is what dealerships call an unwind. Unwinds happen when a deal is rolled and the dealer is unable to secure funding from a lender. The buyer is then asked to bring the car back.

Congrats on the purchase, though. I'm sure the car has found the perfect new home. Just drive and enjoy her.

I thought there was another thread about this and we already reached the same conclusion.

Kinda a sorta the other thread was about the rear light to bumper gap. This one is about the tailgate. I should have merged this with the other, sorry.

I found the previous owners name in the lemon law booklet, however facebook didnt come up with anything, his name is prinited and signed as purchased at Pearson Nissan of Ocala. dated 1/1/14 car was however manufactured 8/13 according to plate in door jam.

The car was then traded in at Love Chevrolet in Hommossa, which is same sort of area to where the car was bought originally.

Isn't there an adjustment for that on the underside of the hatch? Its a spring like adjustment for the height of the hatch to the body.

They use the regular black rubber adjustments, but I am not familiar with the way Nissan's work on this application.

Generally on other vehicles you turn it clock or anti clockwise. This one I think is a screw in the center that you have to adjust.

Mines off. But I also hit the rear quarter and replaced it so not sure if the hit did it. I took that rubber adjuster apart and didn't see anything. It's just a spring basically. If I push down on that side its perfect but that spring or other forces pop it back up.

In for a fix besides a tie down pulling from the inside.

my hood is like a MM off from the left than the right.. no matter how many times I play with the little rubber adjustments , the left side is always a lil higher than the right. It is only noticeable if you point it out.

Ive learned to live with it.

I just looked through the FSM (very little info on the hatch frame) and did a visual inspection of the hatch door on my '09 Touring and, as far as I can tell, the only adjustment is the striker/latch. The "opening assists" on the side have no adjustments (quarter turn in/out if you want to take a closer look) and I read/see no way to adjust the stops at the rear.

Strange that. All cars I've seen screw in or out with rubber threads.

Tighten down the adjustors on the driver side. It's a grey grommet that adjusts height.
