wow.. can you say "bleutiful"!

Namir 12-23-2008 01:48 PM

That light gray interior works really well with the blue!

This blue is really tricky though, it seems like a different shade in every set of pictures. I think it's one of those colors you just have to see in person.

nogoodname 12-23-2008 02:42 PM

^^ sometimes it looks like Rich Blue and other times it looks like Baby Blue or Sky Blue..lol

the graphite interior will look better than the wheat interior as posted

shumby 12-23-2008 03:19 PM

nice pic of the sub in the spare.

nogoodname 12-23-2008 03:22 PM

^^ so that's where it is..i was wondering...lol

I wonder how that works with removing the spare?
Is the sub under the spare? or in the middle?

I'll definitely be taking that spare out for track sessions, just wondering what all the business looks like with the wheel out.

nogoodname 12-23-2008 03:48 PM

^ i think it's on top of the rim, you can see a wire coming out of the top part/Cap.

shumby 12-23-2008 03:58 PM

^^^ yup looks like it has to handles to lift it out too.

nogoodname 12-23-2008 04:02 PM

how was is on the 350Z??

370ZINMO 12-23-2008 05:00 PM

It's pretty clear from the pic that the sub is on top of the wheel.

M.Bonanni 12-23-2008 05:07 PM

The blue looks much better in person than in the pics IMO.

The Bose sub on the 350 was in a compartment behind the driver's seat.

LiquidZ 12-23-2008 05:45 PM

This is probably the color I will be getting.

I'm also eyeing the black and graphite colors.

18rgcelica73 12-23-2008 10:51 PM

Ha ha ha ha ha. This is great thank ak370z, that made my day. The subwoofer looks like exactly what they used in the rsx-s. You can take out the spare and just mount the sub back into place. I think there would be a spacer in there just to make it secure. What Shumby no sly remarks. That color is the most beautiful blue pearl I have ever seen.

Namir 12-23-2008 10:55 PM

I wonder how heavy the sub is? Do you think it can be disconnected and removed for track days?

18rgcelica73 12-23-2008 10:59 PM

I honestly don't think it would be worth the trouble unless you take out the spare as well. I do belive on my buddies 06 type-s it was very light for a subwoofer maybe 10 pounds, but yes I think it can be unplugged.

Spectre 12-23-2008 11:20 PM

Am I the only person that finds it hard to believe that is the sub, for starters nissan said there is 2 subs in the touring, where is the second one?

18rgcelica73 12-24-2008 10:53 AM

^ this is true I know that this may be one of them. Nissan does say two subs though.

nogoodname 12-24-2008 10:55 AM

the 2 subs are on the door, one on each !!

i dont think the one on the spare is a sub anymore

18rgcelica73 12-24-2008 11:17 AM

Yeah I thought that looked more like the prototype than the production.

370z 12-24-2008 12:23 PM

wheres the Official Pear White thread?

haha... looks guuuuud in any color

That sounds like a lot to me. I would only be taking it out if I was spending the day at the track, in which case I would obviously be removing the spare and any jack/tools. So spare + jack/tools + 10lb sub could easily be 40-50lbs of weight saving.

shumby 12-24-2008 04:24 PM

I take a good dup before I drive saves a good 2-3 lbs lol

18rgcelica73 12-24-2008 05:01 PM

Depends you may save more weight than that.

xDIEGOx 12-25-2008 01:30 AM

I really wish I could like this blue, but it's not dark enough. If they would offer Daytona blue, then I would definitely go with that. I just don't like the smurf blue. :(

Spectre 12-25-2008 09:19 AM

I thought it would be in the door also, but then again they say that the base has 6 speakers and the touring has 6 speakers + 2 woofers so why would they change the way it is set up just for the touring. If anyone has access to look at one, they should help us figure this out.

Zonsolo 12-30-2008 06:03 PM

Sure hope its not that sub.... Blose spare tire subs suck bigtime. Horrible. Can't even tell when its disconnected its that bad.

18rgcelica73 12-31-2008 12:23 AM

You can tell when it is disconnected but yes they are not that great.

Crash 12-31-2008 02:38 AM

Actually, from what I'm reading in the audio/video thread (I believe) it IS the sub that's in the spare and it sounds good now. Someone said that you can really hear the base now and it's hitting low 50hz. I haven't heard the system yet, so I couldn't tell you, but I'll take it either way. My car has 2 channels and 50 watts of furious sound...

Zonsolo 12-31-2008 05:57 PM

I hope you guys are right, but Bose philosophy has always been "bass should be heard and not felt" so I really doubt it thumps at all. Which is why the 50Hz sounds about right, possibly. When I used to have a real system in my cars we always crossed over subs at 30-60hz and turned up gain at 25ish. 80-120 is pretty much mid-base IMO.

My wife's RSX has a similar Bose sub and honestly it is impossible to tell if its hooked up or not. At full volume and the bassiest recording I could find, it just buzzes. PVC does not make a good speaker enclosure, especially not a sub.

The touring only gets the Bose system right? Hmmm base + sport package seems more and more attractive every day. (yes - I'm no fan of Bose).

Zonsolo 12-31-2008 06:02 PM

I can't wait to see one of these blues in person, the pictures all seem to change the hue so much its hard to get a feel for what is the 'true' color.

I'm hoping its closer to the BMW laguna seca blue.

18rgcelica73 12-31-2008 09:00 PM

See I am not one for audio performance as much as engine and suspension performance. So to me the type-s's sound system is pretty good. I think the same way about the blue, but every time I see it I really just want it that much more.

josh@z1 01-01-2009 09:29 AM

Bose... Yes it's good

The Subs are on top of the spare in an enclosure that I am certain is housing two in pure bose fashion with tiny speakers and the enclosure causing the "thump" which I am told hits pretty hard (I drove the base, Russell drove the touring). Russell really emphasized how excellent the Bose sound system is and would not want one without it.
