I hope you guys are right, but Bose philosophy has always been "bass should be heard and not felt" so I really doubt it thumps at all. Which is why the 50Hz sounds about right, possibly. When I used to have a real system in my cars we always crossed over subs at 30-60hz and turned up gain at 25ish. 80-120 is pretty much mid-base IMO.
My wife's RSX has a similar Bose sub and honestly it is impossible to tell if its hooked up or not. At full volume and the bassiest recording I could find, it just buzzes. PVC does not make a good speaker enclosure, especially not a sub. The touring only gets the Bose system right? Hmmm base + sport package seems more and more attractive every day.
