shaved door handles

Guys, any of you purchase a kit for shaved handles? Looking for a brand that someone has experience with and isn't cheap.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

I've yet to see a member with them

6MT-Z34 03-18-2014 06:55 PM

I think an old member (either marco xyz or DJ cutip, not sure if spelled correctly lol) did that to their car u might want to search them

jlbrenne 03-18-2014 06:56 PM

I read a thread of a member that had them but it didn't say what brand they used. I've seen 1 or 2 coupes but no ZRS.

I'm going to get a quote and see how much it would cost me. I'll keep you guys updated

I like it. I'm not into mods but i'd consider that. Looks sleek.

What if you drop the FOB in the toilet?

virtuosoondis 03-19-2014 01:23 AM

Then ur s--t out of luck.lol.looks real good I have to admit though.

zefaulter 03-19-2014 07:53 AM

That looks really nice. How does the door just pop open with the fob? probably included in the kit?

jlbrenne 03-19-2014 07:55 AM

I had another car shaved. You install an exterior locking device (button) that you can push and it opens the door. Also, on your key FOB you can press a button and it opens the door. I would not recommend if your in a climate thats cold. It will ice up and then it can get complicated to get into your ride.

theDreamer 03-19-2014 08:12 AM

JLbrenne is correct, you either program it into your current FOB or many times have an additional one. Which unlocks the car and a spring pushes the door out slightly which allows you to reach in and pull the door open.
Having a charged battery is a requirement, but for most who drive everyday or at least once a week it should not be an issue.

Shaved door kit This should solve the Winter ice build up issue :rofl2: better stay back when you press the button

i think it looks amazing shaved but you loose the protection the handle gives when you open the door. if you notice the handle protrudes just enough to be the furthest thing out when you open the door. giving you a sort of door bumper as it may.

buuuuut i love the shaved look and would do this if i was already fixing a door issue or whatnot.

axmea? 03-22-2014 02:11 AM

I don't care man, if the fob dies at least you had a good run with the shaved stuff.
Edit: if you can't find the door, turn on the lights haha
