what I do is after I drill the hole in the shroud and feed the wire through. I then fille the shroud with silicone sealant. Then I push the halo in place and lightly clean the edges. Dont push the halo all the way to the bottom, you want a slight gap so the glue is still exposed. Then you snap the shaved diffuser over the halo until it touches the glue and the inside of the shroud. The glue under the halo will keep the diffuser from falling off. Clean up and continue your wiring. If you really want to be sure its glued put a small dab on your finger and run it along the inside edges of the diffuser. Its clear so you cant see it.

Default Issues with DRL's and painted headlights

mhm ok I see what ur saying well I'm gonna b In trouble there I guess cuz I did my lights in like steps kind off and I have my halo already mounted in the big shroud a long time ago so that goop in there is hard! probably have to figure out another way then if I only had my shipment then it would b easier to picture everything!
guess I should have waited for everything to arrive first

Agreed James. And I have someone here in Edmonton that will do it he has said we will try mine soon as it's on the road and I'm sure he would do more.

I plan to use the acrylic covers (blacked out) at shows from now on, it'll match the rest of the car anyways lol

As promised:

I think everyone gets the idea of what is involved here, the metal plate will protect the plastic housing from being melted by the reflected sun. The plan is to use this fix along with some tint on the headlight to keep the paint from flaking on the metal in the hottest of situations.

I was nervous about baking too but it's way better than you think. If you decide to do it and want a hand, let me know

Good fix. That's pretty much the same thing that I did couple months ago except your metal plate is a nicer design

Similar to traffic lights, you'll need a "lid" placed above the lens. You already can see the bright light casting through the lens onto the housing from edconline's pictures.

A second 'phase' of the fix was implemented that doesn't involve a lid up top, pretty much eliminates all that reflected light. I'll post pics/details tonight when I get home
